In an attractive, flat design and available in aluminium, polar white and dark brazil, the ARGUS smoke detector from Merten is suitable for any interior. A growing market The figures are alarming: smoke is the primary cause of death in fires. Around 70 percent of all fire deaths in Germany occur during the night. Smouldering fires develop quickly due to obsolete electrical appliances or carelessness such as an unnoticed glowing cigarette. According to official estimates, the use of smoke detectors could halve the number of victims and incidents of fire damage. High-quality optical smoke detectors are particularly suitable for this. One of the few top-class systems on the market is the new ARGUS Smoke Detector System from Merten, which has been awarded a VdS (German Association of Property Insurers) test certificate for its reliability in smoke detection. Certified by the VdS and tested in accordance with VdS standard pren 12239, it meets one of the most stringent norms for domestic smoke detectors. The safe radio network Another highlight: the bi-directional radio module for fast and convenient upgrading in detached family houses, multiple dwellings, flats, old buildings, offices and functional buildings. Each radio module is fitted with a transmitter and receiver, so that in an emergency, all smoke detectors connected to the wireless network will trigger an alarm. For example, if a fire breaks out in the cellar or basement, the family sleeping in the attic will also be alerted in good time, allowing them to escape to safety. An additional central point as alarm receiver is therefore not necessary. This helps your customers save money. The ARGUS radio module operates on the specially reserved 868 MHz radio frequency, which means that interference or false alarms are impossible. Your customers are therefore always on the safe side. The relay module with two-way contact also allows smoke detectors to be combined with external alarm equipment (e.g. horns or vibration cushions) or integrated into the INSTABUS EIB building management system. This means that older or deaf people, for example, can feel safe. Zero-signal current monitoring (for alarm loops) is also made possible by the break contact. In the event of an alarm, the display unit triggers actions such as the switching on of the siren and the emission of messages. The arming device has a sabotage protection feature to prevent the lid being opened or the device being removed from the wall. Through TeleConnect it is possible to trigger an alarm in the neighbour s house or at a monitoring service by telephone. In the case of faults in the domestic appliances, the relevant engineer can be notified directly. And for the outside area, the attractive alarm siren is fitted with a flashing light. ARGUS Control is mains failure-safe. Voltage buffering is carried out by a lead-gel accumulator which is connected to the voltage supply.
