2 Mondays Group Time Location Age Description Baby Massage pm 6 weeks - 9 months Massaging is a lovely way to interact with your baby, it enhances the bond between you both and you may notice your baby is more relaxed and settles easier to sleep. Minimum 50p donation. Baby Yoga pm 6 weeks - 9 months Tuesdays Baby Yoga is a lovely way to interact with your baby, it enhances the bond between you both. Regular movement promotes a more settled behaviour with less extreme ups and downs. Minimum 50p donation. Read With Me 10-11am Both parents/carers and children are encouraged to come on a magical journey through the telling of stories, singing songs and a wonderful craft activity with Kate from the library. 50p donation per child. (running on 1 st, 15 th and 29 th November). Sharing Stories Bookstart 10-11am This is a fun and interactive story sharing group. Parents/carers and children are encouraged to participate and become involved in the stories. The stories will include props and instruments to help the stories come to life. After the story there will be a creative craft activity. 50p donation per child. (running on 8 th and 22 nd November). Under 1 s pm 0-1 year For all parents/carers with a baby under oneyear old. Join to explore the wonders of play and singing. Minimum 50p donation Healthy Child Clinic 1-3pm Self weigh and an opportunity to meet members of the Health Visiting Team and discuss any health or development issues. Pop in and Play pm Come along and meet other parents while your child has the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts. 50p donation per child. Baby Signing pm 6 weeks + An eight week course that builds on your child s natural gestures and sounds using standardised signs based on British Sign Language. MCH Introduction to Solid Food and Oral Health am Café 4+ months Join your Health Visiting team for a one off session to have your questions answered on introducing solid foods and find out more information about looking after your babies teeth. Call reception to book your place.
3 Wednesdays Group Time Location Age Description Messy Play am Come along and join us to have a fun filled time exploring the wonders of play and learning with your child through messy play. You will find a range of activities to stimulate your child s imagination and their creative expression. Minimum 50p donation. English Classes am pm Church St. John s Infant School Learn and improve your English, while finding out about health, safety and other interesting topics surrounding your children. Pop in and Play am Come along and meet other parents while your child has the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts. 50p donation per child. Story Sacks Library 10am-3pm Reception Come and borrow a Story Sack for 50p for 2weeks. (running on 9 th & 23 rd November). Next Steps pm 1-2 The Drop-in sessions are aimed at children between 1 2 old, where discovery takes on a whole new meaning. You will find a range of activities to stimulate your child s curiosity and holistic development. Minimum 50p donation. Active Birth 1-4pm Café Antenatal session; a workshop for labour and a guide for those early days available in one bite size afternoon session. Please speak to your midwife for further information.
4 Thursdays Group Time Location Age Description Baby Bounce Wiggle and Giggle Rhyme Time am Luton Library 0-24 months This group provides an ideal opportunity for your baby to enjoy knee bouncing, action songs, signing and rhymes. Music is the perfect tool to support children s development and also aid pre-reading skills. Older children are welcome only in exceptional circumstances, please see the group facilitator. Minimum 50p donation. Sing, Sign and Rhyme group am 15 months - 3 This group is a lively session where children and parents can enjoy interactive sessions singing and moving together. Rhymes and songs can play a vital role in helping your child's language and movement develop through fun exercises over a 6 week course. Minimum 50p donation. Playlink pm Come along and join us to have a fun filled time exploring the wonders of play and learning with your child. Play provides many opportunities for children to learn and develop life-long skills within a warm, friendly and stimulating environment. Minimum 50p donation. You and your new baby 1-3pm A five week programme facilitated jointly by the Health Visitors and. The sessions enable new parents to meet other parents whilst exploring and learning about relevant topics for the first year of your baby s life. Call reception to book your place. Does your child love to look at books? Or do you want to encourage your child to enjoy more books? Sure Start has the answer. We have a mini book library in the reception area of the centre. There is an exciting range of books that children may choose and borrow. You can enjoy using the library by taking just a few essential steps. Please fill out an information card and return to reception staff. All information is treated in a confidential manner. You may choose up to 6 books per child every time that you borrow. Please write down the titles of the books and the date out on your own library record sheet. When you return your books, please write the return date on your library sheet and place the books back into the library. Any problems, please see a staff member. Enjoy sharing your books with your child.

Play provides many opportunities for children to learn and develop life-long skills within a warm, friendly and stimulating environment. Minimum 50p donation. Clothes Swap am Family Room All welcome Bring good condition, clean 0-5 year old clothes to swap. Bring 1 carrier bag only. (running on 4 th November). Early Birds 12-1pm At the session you will meet a midwife, learn how we can care for you, obtain your pregnancy notes and take away literature/info packs. Breastfeeding 1: pm Come along and seek advice and support in a relaxed and informal environment. Please call reception to book an appointment. Breastfeeding pm We welcome new and expectant mums who are interested in or currently breastfeeding. You can seek advice, support and meet other breastfeeding mums. Don't own a computer but would like to use one? We have a computer for public use which is free of charge. The computer has broadband connection and is equipped with the latest Microsoft Office software and other applications. Please talk to reception about gaining access.
6 A story sack is a large cloth bag containing a young child s picture book with supporting materials to stimulate reading activities. To bring the story to life, some or all of the following are included soft toys of the main character, props relating to items in the story, a non-fiction book relating to the fiction theme, a CD and a languages based game on the book are often included. The aim of a story sack is to give parents/carers the confidence to enjoy books together and to create a joint learning experience which will help develop and improve your child s pre-reading skills and encourage a life-long love on books. The Story Sack Library is free to join and is available on a fortnightly basis. You simply have to fill out a membership form and read the terms and conditions. 7 Look out for. Midwives - Following confirmation of your pregnancy you will be advised of an appointment with a midwife. We have a team of midwives providing antenatal and postnatal support. Early Pregnancy Booking Line Health Visiting Health advice, immunisations, screening and routine health reviews are all important parts of the healthy child programme. They are carried out by health professionals usually doctors, midwives, health visitors, practice nurses and school nurses. The role of the health visitor and team members is to improve the health of families and children in the crucial first few of life. Working in the community, the health visiting service aims to prevent illness, promote health and wellbeing. Early Education and Childcare Nursery - We are an Ofsted registered setting providing free, high quality childcare and education for children aged from 2 (eligibility applies). Our nursery runs during term time from two sites (Magpie Hall Road and Tramways). We offer an exceptional early environment that inspires children s curiosity and desire to learn. Mini Library - Encourage your babies to develop a life-long love of books by borrowing up to six books at a time from our mini library. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity at no charge. Ask at reception for further details. Understanding Your Child - If you want to explore how children grow and develop or are experiencing some challenges with parenting, we have a course that might be of interest.
