The stand must be operated in accordance with the stand manufacturer s instructions. Rigging of lighting products should only be carried out by a competent person in accordance with current guidelines. All fixings used should be correctly rated taking care to observe 10:1 safety factors and utilise Secondary fixings as backup to the primary fixing methods. 3 Pulse LEDBLOK 16.3 High Power RGB LED Wash The Pulse LEDBLOK 16.3 features 16 super bright, 3W Tri Colour LED s offering smooth colour changes coupled with stunning colour saturation. Ideal for use indoors adding effects to stages, washing walls in colour or general stage lighting. Tri Colour technology minimises colour shadowing commonly found on single colour LED fixtures. DO NOT connect this to a dimmer pack as this can damage the unit and/or the dimmer pack. Dimming or control of this product is done utilising the onboard DMX functions. The LEDBLOK 16.3 features a fused IEC inlet fitted with a 1A 250V rated 20mm mains fuse. Should the fuse require replacement the unit must be isolated from the mains power supply before removing the fuse cover. The replacement fuse must be of the same type and rating. 3

4 2) Menu After the unit has powered up Press the MENU button to access the menu system and select the required operating mode. 3) Up Press the UP button to increase the value of the selected parameter. 4) Down Press the DOWN button to decrease the value of the selected parameter. 5) Enter Press the ENTER button to access the parameters relevant to the selected mode. 6) Microphone Audio pickup for the built-in Sound Active mode. 7) DMX Input Standard 3-pin XLR male chassis socket for DMX input. Pin configuration for this product is Pin1= Ground, Pin2= Negative (-ve) and Pin3= Positive (+ve). 8) DMX Output Standard 3-pin XLR female chassis socket for DMX input. Pin configuration for this product is Pin1= Ground, Pin2= Negative (-ve) and Pin3= Positive (+ve). 9) Safety Bond Eye When rigging the LEDBLOK 16.3 a secondary fixing should be used in addition to a hook clamp/truss clamp type fixing. All rigging and fixing points should be of suitable capacity, these should include a 10:1 safety factor. All safety bonds should utilise a screw gate type carbine fixing. 10) Menu Display Bright, LCD based menu system complete with a blackout feature suitable for use in theatre environments where the stray light from an LCD display would cause distraction. After power on, Press MENU button to activate the main menu and scroll through the menu system: DMX Address, Channel Mode, Slave mode, Show Mode (Sound/Colour/Fade), Black LCD, White Balance, Auto Test and Fixture Time ENTER is to set the relative specification for current mode or enter the sub-menu for a function. UP is to add the value of current specification. DOWN is to decrease the value of current specification. DMX Address: Scroll thru the menu using the MENU button until it displays DMX Address, press the ENTER button to access the DMX channel setting. Set the DMX channel using the UP and DOWN buttons, once at the correct setting (selectable 1-512) press the Enter button to confirm and set the channel. Once set the DMX Address will be held in the fixtures memory while powered down. Channel Mode: The LEDBLOK 16.3 features both 5CH and 13CH profiles (see channel allocation) Slave Mode: Used in conjunction with the three selectable Show modes. The units can be set to Master, Slave1 or Slave2. Master and Slave units must be linked together using the DMX inputs/outputs. Slave1 will mirror the Master exactly while Slave2 will add a different dimension to your light show by alternating between a direct mirror of the Master and a contrasting effect. Show Mode: Scroll thru the menu using the MENU button until it displays Show Mode, press the ENTER button to access the Show Mode sub-menu. Within the Show Mode menu there are a further three options: Sound, Colour and Fade. SOUND: The Sound mode will react to an audio signal picked up by the onboard microphone. If the audio signal ceases or the volume level is too low the fixture will commence auto run mode. 4

5 COLOUR: In Colour mode the LEDBLOCK 16.3 will jump from colour to colour. FADE: The unit will fade between preselected colours, speed of fade is adjustable in nine steps. Black LCD: The LEDBLOCK 16.3 features a blackout function for the LCD display. Use the MENU button to scroll through the menu system until Black LCD is displayed. Press the Enter button, the display will then show LCDLightOff or LCDLightOn depending on the mode required. When the LCDLightOff is selected the unit will automatically blackout the LCD display after a few seconds of the menu being idle. White Balance: The LEDBLOCK features a white balance/colour correction mode where the fixture can be altered to match other brands of LED fixture. Press the MENU button until White Balance is displayed on the LCD display. Press the enter button to access the sub menu. The Red, Green and Blue colours of each four LED segment can then be changed thru the value s Auto Test: Press the MENU button until Auto Test is displayed, press ENTER to begin a full test of each LED in the fixture. The fixture will scroll thru Red, Green, Blue and White to prove all LEDs are functioning as expected. Fixture Running Hours: Press the MENU button until Fixture Time is displayed, press ENTER to display the total number of hours the fixture has been used for since factory release. Note: To begin operation of any selected mode simply press and hold the MENU button for 2 seconds or more. The fixture will then commence operation. DMX or Slave modes rely on an external signal input to operate. It is also best practice to terminate all DMX lines using a DMX Terminator are available from Pulse retailers & distributors (Code: DMXTERM-3P or DMXTERM-5P). The terminator should be inserted into the last fixture in each DMX chain. DMX Pin Configuration Pin1= Ground Pin2= Negative (-ve) Pin3= Positive (+ve). Care should be taken whan manufacturing DMX cables to ensure above pinout is observed. Do not connect the cable s shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLR s outer casing. Grounding the shield could cause a short circuit and erratic behaviour. Trouble Shooting: Unit does not power up: Check mains supply. If mains supply is correct check the fuses in all power cords and on the fixture. Disconnect all cabling and fixtures from the mains supply before changing mains fuses. Unit does not respond to DMX: Check DMX cabling to ensure reliable data connection including DMX polarity (see diagram above). Check DMX address settings in line with the DMX controller or console. Unit does not respond to SOUND: The internal microphone features a filter to cancel out high pitched tones including treble. The fixture will respond to the lower mid and bass tones. The microphone requires a reasonable sound level before it will activate and trigger the next step. 6

This warranty is limited to manufacturer defects, in either materials or workmanship. Defective items should be returned to the retailer/distributor from whom they were originally purchased. Batteries are classed as a consumable item, as a result any battery will only carry a 90 day warranty from date of purchase. This warranty will not cover damage due to improper use such as (and not limited to) damaged cones, mounting frames, voice coils or items damaged by weather including exposure to moisture.
