3 The Company Is Comprised of Three Operating Groups: Flight Systems Group Space Launch Vehicles Missile Defense Systems Rocket Propulsion Systems Aerospace Structures Defense Systems Group Missile Products Armament Systems Defense Electronic Systems Small Caliber Systems Space Systems Group Commercial Communications and Imaging Satellites Human Space and Advanced Systems Scientific and National Security Satellites Spacecraft Components and Technical Services
4 Flight Systems Group Orbital ATK s Flight Systems Group provides systems and products that span the space launch, strategic missile and missile defense, and aerospace structures markets. The group is the premier manufacturer of solid rocket propulsion systems and specialty energetics products; a leading provider of small- and medium-class space launch vehicles for civil, defense and commercial missions; a major supplier of interceptor boosters and target vehicles for missile defense; and a world-class manufacturer of composite primary and secondary structures for commercial and military aircraft and launch vehicles. Space Launch Vehicles Orbital ATK small-class, solid-propellant space launch vehicles are the industry standard for delivering lightweight payloads into orbit. Our air-launched Pegasus and ground-launched family of Minotaur rockets have launched more than 170 satellites in over 60 missions since Orbital ATK s Antares medium-class space launch vehicle is an integral element of the company s space logistics system that provides commercial cargo delivery services to the International Space Station for NASA, as well as launches for scientific, commercial and other suitably-sized spacecraft to Earth orbit. Missile Defense Systems Orbital ATK is an industry-leading provider of sophisticated suborbital launch vehicles for the nation s missile defense systems. In the last 10 years, we have conducted over 80 major launches for U.S. and allied countries missile defense programs. Orbital ATK is the sole provider of interceptor boosters for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency s Ground-based Midcourse Defense system designed to intercept and destroy long-range enemy missiles. The group is also a primary supplier of highly reliable target vehicles that serve as threat simulators to provide high-fidelity facsimiles of enemy missiles in the testing and verification of missile defense systems. Rocket Propulsion Systems Orbital ATK provides a wide range of reliable solid fuel rocket motors for both the company s own vehicles and for most other launch providers in government and commercial markets. For defense programs, the company produces propulsion systems for the Trident II D-5 and Minuteman III strategic missiles and the company s Ground-based Midcourse Defense interceptor and various missile defense target vehicles. Orbital ATK is also building the five-segment solid boosters for NASA s heavy-lift Space Launch System and the main launch-abort motor for its Orion crew capsule. Orbital ATK propulsion systems are employed in the company s Pegasus, Minotaur and Antares rockets as well as in other vehicles such as the Athena launch system and GEM boosters for the Delta II, Delta IV, and future Atlas V and Vulcan launch vehicles. Aerospace Structures Orbital ATK is a leading supplier in critical composite structures for the aerospace and defense industries. Employing advanced composite manufacturing technologies, the company produces highly-engineered, lightweight and reliable structures for commercial and military aircraft programs such as the Airbus A350, Boeing 787 and Lockheed Martin F-35 as well as for the ULA Delta and Atlas launch vehicles. These structures cover a wide range of physical sizes and service temperature requirements for some of the industry s most demanding applications.
