2 Communication with the VX1000 System cannot be established correctly if the A2L does not contain required information, such as mentioned above. An instruction for required contents is available. Note: INCA should be able to add an A2L which has been stored/exported from a working CANape VX1000 System project (Precondition: Communication in CANape via VX1000 System works as expected). 3.0 Establishing Communication in INCA The following steps have to be performed to get a connection to the ECU working with the VX1000 System: 3.1 Adding an A2L 1. The A2L has to be added in INCA as an ECU project. If possible and required, please also add the corresponding HEX file. 2. Add a corresponding Workspace. 3. Add the A2L (here "ExampleVXECU") to the workspace as a Project/Device. 2

3 4. Define the communication to be established as Ethernet-System XCP. 5. Create an Experiment. 6. The Workspace should look like this: Upon opening the experiment, communication with the ECU will be established using the VX1000 System. If some other tool is connected (CANape, VXConfig etc.), communication may not be successful. Communication may also be rejected by firewall settings or wrong network settings. Please check VXConfig for further information (INCA has to be closed). 3
