1 TRUNNION MOUNTED FORGED BALL VALVES Model FF and GG Reduced bore 3-36 Full bore 2-48 ASME Class Model FF and GG are trunnion mounted, polymeric seated ball valves, which provide bubble-tightness over an extensive range of temperatures and pressures. They are available in both full bore and reduced bore designs in a choice of materials, sizes and pressure classes which makes them an ideal selection for a variety of applications. This extensive range of sizes, styles, pressure classes and materials together with conformance to ASME, API and NACE specifications makes these valves suitable for virtually all moderate temperature oil and gas shut-off applications. The combination of a trunnion mounted ball and an unique spring loaded upstream sealing provides bubble-tight shut off and low operating torques, even at extremely high shut off pressure. Model FF and GG valves conform to the requirements of ASME / B16.34 and API 6D/ISO They are manufactured under a quality plan that complies with the requirements of API spec Q1 and ISO The factory is licensed by API to use the API 6D monogram. The license number is 6D DESIGN FEATURES FORGED CONSTRUCTION The standard valves use forged steel as their body material which eliminate unavoidable defects of castings and assure an uniform and tough structure of the body material at full rated working pressure. A wide choice of trim materials makes the valve durable in operation even under severe conditions. TIGHT SHUT-OFF The unique spring loaded floating seats with polymer insert provide upstream sealing regardless of flow or pressure direction. These seats provide bubble tight sealing at both high and low differential pressures. Leak testing is performed to the requirements of API 6D. LOW OPERATING TORQUE The trunnion mounted ball in valves prevent high upstream pressure from forcing the ball into the seat producing high seat load. Smooth finished stem and selflubricant PTFE bearings assures low operating torque. G200-1 EN 2/2014

2 METSO G200-1 EN The model FF and GG forged body trunnion mounted ball valves are designed, constructed and tested according to API 6D. The whole range is supplied standard in full compliance with NACE MR Model FF and GG valves have been developed for oil and gas pipelines and process industry. STANDARD FEATURES DOWNSTREAM UPSTREAM DOUBLE BLOCK AND BLEED Model FF and GG trunnion mounted valves have a sealing system which allows installation in service requiring double block and bleed. These valves have drain and bleed fittings on the body. CORROSION RESISTANCE In addition to increasing the corrosion allowance in body thickness, the valve stem, ball and seat retainer of carbon steel are electroless nickel plated as standard per ASTM B733 and B656. A wide range of alloys are available for corrosive services. External surfaces of carbon steel valves are painted. SEALING FEATURE All trunnion ball valves utilize the differential between the sealing diameter of the seat insert/ball contact and the outer diameter of the seat. The difference between these areas times the line pressure is the sealing force. When linepressure is so low that the force generated by the different diameters cannot seal, the seat springs provide the force. (Figure 1) FIRE SAFE AND ANTI-STATIC DESIGN The FF and GG valves are designed with a secondary metal-tometal seal after a fire. When the primary soft seals are destroyed by fire, the fire safe seals energize the seat assembly to seal. (Figure 2). FF and GG valves have been fire tested in accordance with API607 5th edition and API 6FA. Fire tests reports are available on request. All valves are equipped with an anti static device. SEALANT INJECTION The full range of trunnion mounted ball valves are supplied with a standard stem sealing injection fitting. 6 and larger valves have standard seat sealant fittings. These fittings can be used to provide a temporary sealing in case of damage incurred from fire or media line contamination. (Figure 3).
