You need to use this every time you borrow books from Marjon we can not accept Plymouth University cards. You will also need to have your Marjon Library card if you wish to book one of the group work rooms in the Library. You are responsible for all charges and items taken out on your account. Library Online: Plymouth University provide a range of electronic resources to help you with your studies. You can access these using your own laptop and logging onto Plymouth University s Wifi (eduroam) or by using one of the two dedicated Plymouth University PCs on the second floor of Marjon Library. 5 Finding what you need: Your lecturers should provide you with a reading list to find the books you need, the best place to start is the Library catalogue. You can access this online from the Marjon Library webpage or use the OPACs situated on each floor of the Library Help and Advice: We are here to help so please ask at the counter or Enquiry desk. 7 Opening hours: During term time the Library is staffed from 8.30am to 8pm during the week, and 11am to 4pm at weekends From the first week in October, the ground floor is open 24/7, providing study space and access to self-service facilities. Holiday hours will be advertised on the Library website, on Facebook and in the Library. Please note that the counter service closes 15 minutes prior to the Library closing. Staff are friendly and helpful Podiatry Student

8 Study space: The Library offers a variety of study spaces. Group work can be done either on the ground floor or in the bookable group work rooms on the first floor. Group work rooms can be booked at the Library counter. The first floor is for quiet study so please keep noise to a minimum. There is also a dedicated silent study room on this floor and the whole of the second floor is for silent study. Although staff are regularly working on the floors, we do rely on users to observe the different study areas and to respect the right of others to work in peace and quiet. Noise text alert: The Library has a noise text alert service if you have problems with other noisy users, text us on and let us know where you are in the Library- someone will be up as soon as possible to keep an eye on things. I like having the different study areas: silent, quiet and group Physiotherapy Student

9 Facilities for PAHC Students: Computers: Marjon Library has two dedicated Plymouth University computers on the second floor. These are connected to the PU network allowing you to access the electronic resources as if you were on campus. The PAHC building offers a large IT suite and printing facility. Photocopying: There are photocopying machines on both the ground and first floor of the Library and credit for these can be purchased from the Library counter. Alternatively pop into the Copy Shop which is accessible from the ground floor of the Library or from the main quad. In addition to photocopying they offer transparencies, laminating and binding. Return book service: During PU term time the University offers a courier service to collect PU books and return them to Drake Circus library for you. We are unable to offer distance learner services until we have received this confirmation. Rules & regulations: PAHC students are subject to the Library regulations that form part of the Marjon Student Regulations Framework. The framework can be accessed from the Marjon website and Academic documents. All users are expected to show fellow users and staff respect, courtesy and consideration and to maintain the pleasant working environment the library offers, using the different study areas appropriately. When using the library we ask you to respect the following: - To only eat cold food - To respect the silent study areas and not talk in these areas - To use headphones when listing to music/audio files - Turn your mobile phone onto silent and only make and receive calls in the stairwells or social ground floor area - Treat library material with care - Respect copyright law information can be found by the photocopiers or on the Marjon Library website - Keep your valuables with you at all times.
