"Funeral services for Mrs. Alba Lee (Thomas) Longacre, well known local woman were Thursday afternoon of last week at the Strasburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Butler, pastor Elm Baptist Church, as the minister in charge, burial being in the Elm Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Creke, Jas. Raynes, Murrel Voyles, Oscar Ravenscraft, Wm.. Hedrick, Chas. Nichols, and the singers were Geo. Beamer, Ira Zook, Ora Hartzler and a Mr. Hershberger, all of East Lynne. Songs comfortingly rendered by this group were "Going Down the Valley," "In the Garden" and "Bear Me Away On Your Snowy Wings." Thomas, was born June 4, 1891, in Johnson County, and died at the age of 49 years, 3 months, 6 days, in a Kansas City hospital, victim of peritonitis. She is survived by her third husband, Ivan Longacre, to whom she was married, Mar. 4, 1933, a son, Chas. Wilton McEwen, Hawthorne, Nev.., and three step-children, Mrs. Ruby Bye, Chicago, Mrs. Ethel Urffer, Coffeyville, Kas., and Wilson Long, LaTour, Mo.
