3 Objectives Review the incidence and management of pleural effusions after cardiac operation. Review the incidence and significance of postoperative pericardial effusions after cardiac operation. Define a reasonable approach to the radiologic and echocardiographic assessment of the postoperative cardiac surgery patient.
