2 Open painting image, adjust resolution - 72px/inch 1400px height and 2000px width. You may choose different size, but some tutorial settings are depending of image size and resolution. Fill first layer with the radial gradient. Use following settings: een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

3 Download pumpkin brushes and use one of them with the Shape Dynamic, Scattering and Transfer settings to fill out all background area with the pumpkins in a new layer. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

4 Apply Overlay Blending mode effect to this layer: Type the word "Halloween", you may use any Bold, rounded font. I used "Comic Sans MS". een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

5 Go to Edit > Transform > Warp and apply Arc Upper transformation to the sign. Then choose regular round brush with hard edges to add bolder silhouette for the letters. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

6 You should get something similar: Separate pumpkin image from background, retouch spots and small defects with the Patch and Clone Stamp Tools. Also you may Increase Hue/ Saturation settings, go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation, move Saturation marker right a bit and Hue left to -7 or ~-10. Play wit the Image > Adjustments > Color adjustments, move markers from cold shades to warm. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

7 Duplicate pumpkin shape, transform the duplicated layer to ellipse using simple Free Transformation and place shape above the on of the letters - "a", for example. In order to make pumpkin shape closer to letter silhouette under it, apply Free Warp transformation. Drag corners handles and corners to change the shape. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

8 Make the same actions for the second duplicate of the original pumpkin shape. Repeat similar actions to create pumpkin shapes for other letters. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

9 Add layer masks to the pumpkin shapes layers. Load selection for the original letters, go to Select > Modify > Expand (5). Then erase selected area of the letters holes with the black brush when the layer mask of each letter is active. Remove and apply layer masks to corrected letters shapes. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

10 Return to the white original letters and duplicate it. Move duplicate down like on the screen shot below. Create a new black layer below both of original text layers. You may merge them - white sign layer plus duplicate of sign plus black background. Name this merged layer - "text". Return to the one of the pumpkin shapes, "e", for example. Go to Filter > Liquefy. 11 Then try to correct pumpkin shape very close to the original letters using Forward Warp Tool and Bloat Tool. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

12 Correct all other letters with liquefy filter as well. Merge all pumpkin shapes layers and apply Inner Shadow and Bevel Emboss effects. een_font_1.html[10/8/2013 9:48:25 PM]

16 Then make active Brush Tool choose small 8-10px round brush and apply Shape Dynamics setting to it. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

17 Then make active Pen Tool and path active again, right click to path > choose Stroke Path, check box Simulate Pressure. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

18 You will get tendrils with the thin twisted tips. Process connections between tendrils and original pumpkin stalk with the very small brush using short strokes. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

19 Apply Gradient Overlay and Bevel Emboss effects to tendrils. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

20 Here is result of Gradient and Bevel and Emboss effects: Group all layers with pumpkin letters and tendrils, merge them and duplicate the merged layer. Go to Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical. Move turned upside down layer bottom, below the original pumpkin text bottom edge. Go to Edit > Transform > Warp > Arch, move arch center point top. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

21 In order to transform reflection closer to the original bottom edge, choose Edit > Transform > Distort. Drug transformation corners to correct reflection position. Apply Gradient Overlay effect to the reflection layer. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

22 Add Layer Mask to the reflection layer and fill bottom part of Layer Mask with the linear black and white gradient: Ctrl plus click Layer mask to load selection of the "white/visible" area of layer mask. 23 Apply Lens Blur Filter to selected part of reflection. Choose Ellipse Tool and create Large round shape on the new layer between pumpkin text and reflection layer. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

24 Apply Gaussian Blur filter to created shape: Transform Blurred shape by vertical using Free Transformation. een_font_2.html[10/8/2013 9:52:11 PM]

25 Then go to Edit > Transform > Warp > Arc Apply Multiply Blending Mode to the layer and Opacity 55%. Duplicate pumpkin text layer twice and place both duplicates above the gradient background layer and below the layer with the small pumpkins pattern. 28 Create a new layer and create pumpkin sparkling effect with the one of pumpkin brush with Shape, Scattered dynamic effects. een_font_3.html[10/8/2013 9:54:59 PM]

29 Try to apply larger shapes and and much pressure next to the letters shapes. Apply drop shadow effect to the sparkling layer: een_font_3.html[10/8/2013 9:54:59 PM]

30 If you don't have tablet and pen to use brush pressure, you may use the same pressure simulate method as for tendrils. Make active brush Tool, choose pumpkin brush with the dynamic settings. Create paths with the Pen Tool, right click to the path, then choose "stroke path". Create a new empty layer above pumpkin shapes. 31 Add Drop Shadow and Bevel and Emboss effect to this layer: een_font_3.html[10/8/2013 9:54:59 PM]

32 Insert Fire flame image. Make duplicate of this layer to create a reflection. Transform reflection duplicate upside down and move it down just like on the image below. Apply Lens Blur filter to the reflection layer. Apply Screen Blending Mode to both flame layers. een_font_3.html[10/8/2013 9:54:59 PM]

33 Fill hole area with any color in a new layer and apply linear gradient layer style effect to it. Set Opacity for the reflection layer around 30%. And here is result! een_font_3.html[10/8/2013 9:54:59 PM]
