Fujifilm s high performance inkjet platforms are based on UV curing inkjet technology, fuelled by Uvijet ink which delivers instant curing and high production speeds with excellent image quality and colour vibrancy. The new Acuity LED UV hybrid printer is the latest development in what could be the future technology for wide format printing, combining proprietary Fujifilm printheads, Fujifilm UV curing ink and an LED lamp system to deliver excellent results at impressive production speeds for a mid range printer. The Acuity Advance and Inca Onset series provide the ultimate solution for the printing of rigid display materials, with the Uvistar superwide printer for banners and display graphics completing the range. Fujifilm also provides web-to-print and colour management solutions as part of its leading XMF portfolio, as well as comprehensive applications support.

4 01 UV INK TECHNOLOGY Fuelled by the best Fujifilm s award winning Uvijet UV inkjet inks are a critical component in the production of the vibrant, high quality graphic images delivered by its wide format printers. In recent years, rapid growth in inkjet technology has enabled the low volume digital print sector to flourish. Fujifilm was one of the companies that played a key role in the early development of UV curing inks for inkjet, working in conjunction with UK equipment manufacturer Inca Digital and printhead developers Fujifilm Dimatix and Xaar. It also won a Queen s Award for Enterprise for its role in commercialising the technology. 5 UV INK TECHNOLOGY 02 Uvijet inks are produced in a dedicated manufacturing and research facility in the UK which in 2011 won a Best Factory Award for Best Process Plant. Specialised pigment grinding equipment produces particles which are no larger than 0.2microns (smaller than a human cell) and multiple filtration systems and clean room packaging facilities ensure the inks are reliable for every one of the billions of drops that are jetted through your printheads. Ongoing investment in UV inkjet and the development of new raw materials for new ink formulations ensure that Fujifilm will continue to produce high performance inks for wide format inkjet. The use of Micro-V dispersion technology maximises pigment loading to achieve high colour strength whilst maintaining ink stability. This ultra-fine dispersion technique creates a smaller particle size, which prevents filter blockage and doesn t adversely affect printheads. 6 03 hybrid printers Acuity LED 1600 The Fujifilm Acuity LED 1600 is a large format hybrid printer designed to give exceptional print performance in the most environmentally way, driven by a series of Fujifilm proprietary technologies. At the heart of the printer are inks, printheads and an LED curing system which deliver all the benefits associated with LED printing, including low energy consumption, long lamp life and the ability to use heat sensitive media. The Acuity LED 1600 can tackle a huge range of roll and rigid applications including heat-sensitive film and non-pvc media (ideal for producing packaging proofs). It handles all the day to day applications, including posters, window displays, backlit signs, indoor and outdoor signs, point of purchase and packaging, but with white and clear inks as standard can also produce high added-value work. If you just want to send data to your printer you can use the out of the box drivers, but to achieve the best quality and performance you need RIP software that can pay for itself in time and media savings.
