10 Leading the greening of Sign & Display printing Printing with the environment in mind is more than good practice, it s good business. HP is committed to helping our Sign & Display customers reduce the environmental impact of their wide-format printing and reduce their costs without compromising results. Digital on-demand printing can reduce waste Analog technologies - like screen-printing - generate significant waste during set-up processes. In addition, their economics favor printing long runs of identical signs. This increases the likelihood that a high proportion of the signs printed will be discarded without being used. HP Scitex industrial presses are more cost-effective, require no screens, and have no make-ready waste. These presses can also produce short runs of signs with variable data which can lead to more efficient sign sourcing and a reduction in the number of redundant prints prevalent in applications such as point of sale signage. Printing with a better environmental profile HP FB225 color Scitex inks are GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified SM9 and meet AgBB criteria. 10 HP Latex Inks offer performance comparable to eco-solvent and low-solvent inks, without the associated environmental considerations. HP Latex Inks do not require hazard warning labels or special ventilation equipment, 11 and contain no HAPs. 12 HP 792 Latex Ink Cartridges are Eco Mark Certified. 13 Many consumables for HP Latex Printers can be returned to HP for free and convenient recycling. 14 HP Latex Inks produce odorless prints, 15 perfect for sensitive environments. 11 HP recyclable printing materials 18 portfolio HP offers a range of recyclable printing materials compatible with HP Latex Printers. For example, HP HDPE Reinforced Banner is recyclable through the free, convenient HP Large Format Media take-back program. 18 Providing tear strength greater than or comparable to 440 g/m 2 (13-ounce) PVC scrim products, at less than half the weight, this banner material can reduce the carbon footprint of your banner printing material by over 80%. 19 Meeting high environmental standards with certifications HP is actively pursuing top eco certifications and successfully meeting demanding criteria.
