Bergen Sunday, June 12 Following breakfast in the hotel, begin the panoramic tour of Bergen, including the historic Bryggen district, a UNESCO World Heritage site along the city s harbor. See the restored King Håkon s Hall the political center of early medieval Norway the Romanesque St. Mary s Church, the open air Fish Market and the striking Grieg Hall, named for Edvard Grieg, Norway s most famous composer and home of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. This afternoon depart for Troldhaugen, Grieg s summer home, located along the shores of Lake Nordås. Tour the Victorian villa where his Steinway piano still stands; see the garden cottage where he wrote many of his finest works; and delight in a specially-arranged recital in Troldsalen, an intimate concert hall with enrapturing views of the lake behind the musicians.
