1 The Brillhart Ranch T he Brillhart Ranch Company consists of 9,093 total acres along the banks of the Musselshell River. 2 Location The Brillhart Ranch Company is located just over a mile east of the small community of Musselshell, Montana. Multiple school districts are available, from Roundup to Melstone, each located within a short distance from the ranch. Roundup lies within a 20 minute drive from the ranch and has all the amenities needed including a grocery store, gas stations, restaurants, and a number of local shops and equipment stores. Billings is just over an hour drive and provides all the amenities of a larger city including an airport, multiple colleges, and hospitals.

3 Improvements The ranch has a number of improvements including two houses, a 30X50 calving barn, 90 foot loafing shed, a historical barn that was built in the 1800 s, a number of smaller sheds, and a sizeable corral system with concrete feed bunks. All the improvements are located along the Musselshell River providing excellent shelter from huge Cottonwood trees. The newer of the two homes is a vintage 1940 s style 2,000 square foot 3 bedroom 2 bath house with a full basement. The second house is a hand-hewn log home that was built in the late 1800 s and has 2 bedrooms. Although built in the 1800 s, this home has been remodeled and holds a ton of character. The corral system sits among the improvements and is conveniently located to the barn, loading chutes, pens, and scale.

4 General Operation Since 1968, the Brillhart family has run a reputable Hereford operation. Historically, the ranch has run 300 cow-calf pairs while producing a large amount of alfalfa hay. With 322 irrigated acres along the Musselshell River, the ranch successfully produces 1,000 ton of alfalfa hay. The ranch has excellent water sources including stock water out of the Musselshell River, Hawk Creek, artesian wells, five additional wells, two springs and several miles of pipeline. The Brillhart s have piped water to a number of pastures providing a perfect mixture of productive irrigated ground on 322 acres, and 8,771 of native range.

5 Recreation The Bull Mountains are famous for producing world record bull elk, along with having some of Montana s largest whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope, and large numbers of pheasants, turkeys, and all the upland and migratory birds. Elk in the Bull Mountains use the timbered hills as their bedding area while using the irrigated river bottoms as a reliable food source. The Brillhart Ranch provides an excellent source of timbered draws filtering down to the irrigated river bottoms, allowing hunters to experience success harvesting mature bull elk. While the big game hunting is among some of the best in the world, the Musselshell River offers outstanding fishing for small mouth bass and catfish.
