3 Application Architecture TESTGOAT Application Release Manager (ARM) is built on Oracle DB (11g) and Oracle APEX (4.2). 4 Hardware requirements TESTGOAT Application Release Manager (ARM) is built on Oracle DB (11g) and Oracle APEX (4.2). Minimum Requirements: 1. Windows Server 2008 R2 or greater (for office use) or Window7 (for personal use) 2. One processor ( 3.0 ghz or more) 3. 4 GB of RAM. Version1.0 Page 4

5 Software Requirements 1. Oracle 11g XE (free database). You can download the software from Oracle s website. For heavy application usage you will have to install TESTGOAT on a Standard Edition One or Standard Edition database. Please contact TESTGOAT for additional information. 2. 6 Download Software 1. To download TESTGOAT ARM software, click on Download link 2. Save As Version1.0 Page 6

8 3. Download Oracle XE database from Oracle download site You may need to create an account to download the software. 4. Accept License Agreement and Download Express Edition 11g Release2 for Windows x64. Version1.0 Page 8

10 Extract Software Extract Oracle XE 11g software. Right click the zip file and select Extract All. Version1.0 Page 10

11 Select the Destination directory and click on Extract. Continue with Extracting TESTGOAT software files Once you extract Oracle and TESTGOAT software your directory should look like this. Version1.0 Page 11

12 Installing Oracle XE Database Double click on setup.exe. Note: You can skip this step if you already have a running XE database. If your organization prefers to install TESTGOAT on a standard, enterprise or standard edition one database, just download the appropriate database edition. The following instructions are for installing Oracle XE edition and it is free. Click Run Version1.0 Page 12

14 Accept terms and click Next. Accept the default location or click on browse to change the destination folder. Click Next Version1.0 Page 14

15 Specify SYS and SYSTEM password. Note down the password. TESTGOAT software will prompt for this password during installation. Version1.0 Page 15

16 Install the software. Finish Oracle Database Express Edition installation. Version1.0 Page 16

17 Verify the database Services Launch Services Make sure oracle database service and listener services are up and running Version1.0 Page 17

18 Installing TESTGOAT Software Note: Oracle Database should be up and running before you can install TESTGOAT software. TESTGOAT software is bundled with Oracle APEX4.2. TESTGOAT is certified to run on any edition of Oracle 11g Database. Go to extracted TESTGOAT directory and double click on setup.cmd If you are installing Oracle Express Edition the database name is XE. Provide SYS and SYSTEM password. You have provided this info during the database installation. Version1.0 Page 18

19 Wait for the installation to complete. The TESTGOAT software will take approximately 30 minutes to install Oracle APEX4.2 and TESTGOAT soft Version1.0 Page 19
