The UI and workflow of OpenLAB CDS is very familiar and doesn t change in scaling or adding Data Store or ECM for storage. 8 Roles & Privileges ChemStation roles and privileges are managed in OpenLAB Control Panel and can be used without OpenLAB ECM or Data Store. Support for local and domain user authorization. Grouping of instruments into locations. Define access security for each location in the tree. Page 8

9 Data Organization What s in a Result Set? The master method is copied at the start of the sequence to create a sequence method. Any changes made during data analysis (e.g., during an update of the calibration table) are saved into the sequence method. The acquisition method is stored in ACQ.txt. The individual Data Analysis Method (DA.M) preserves the last data analysis parameter to re-create the last version of the results for a specific data file. Page 9

20 Method Download Upon instrument startup, users are given a choice: download the ChemStation method to the instrument upload the instrument method to ChemStation create a new method from instrument method A differences viewer highlights the differences between the ChemStation method and the instrument method.

I do not want to trigger Method Resolution. Solution Acquisition Method Viewerprovides a way to view the acquisition method parameters. Page 21

The downloaded data can be reviewed and reprocessed, since the result set contains all necessary files. Data that have been uploaded to Data Store (or ECM) have a different icon in the tree view.
