2 Description: HDE-ASI HDE-ASI Encoder accepts & auto-detects input streams in HD-, SD-, and analog formats, and delivers one HD/SD MPEG-2 encoded output in ASI format. Additionally, a multi-channel output in DVI format is available for preview and testing purposes.the audio program of the digital inputs is encoded in Dolby AC-3 format. Remote monitoring and control is accomplished using any standard Web browser. 3 Description: SD4E-ASI SD4E-ASI Encoder is the sister product of the HDE-ASI and accepts & auto-detects input streams in only SD-, and analog formats (NO HD- input). 12 Monitoring and Control - Mode Screen Choose from valid input combinations: Mode 1: 1 HD input (720p/1080i) Mode 2: 1 HD input (480i/720p) AND 2 SD/ inputs (480i max) Mode 3: 4 SD/ inputs (480i max) NOTE: Modes 1 and 2 are NOT available for SD4E-ASI unless Option 6351 is installed. Slide # 12

13 Monitoring and Control - Configure Screen (VIDEO) Configure the input VIDEO parameters: (Partial Screen: only 2 SD inputs shown) Bitrate Sum of all four input bitrates must be less than or equal to Mbps when selecting 8VSB modulation or Mbps when selecting QAM 256 modulation Closed Caption Enabled or Disabled Video Filter Level Maximum, Minimum, or Disabled GOP Size from 1 to 20 Input Type Analog, Digital, Disabled Video Input Channel User Selectable GOP (Group Of Pictures) specifies the order in which intra-frames & and inter-frames are arranged. Each MPEG-coded video stream consists of successive GOPs. From the MPEG pictures contained in it the visible frames are generated. A GOP can contain the following picture types: I-picture or I-frame (intra coded picture) P-picture or P-frame (predictive coded picture) B-picture or B-frame (bidirectionally predictive coded picture) Slide # 13

14 Monitoring and Control - Configure Screen (TRANSPORT) Configure the MPEG-2 TRANSPORT Stream parameters: (Partial Screen) The Transport Stream Bitrate, Modulation Mode, Broadcast Method, and other parameters shown here are not indicative of the unit s input or output modes. These are required parameters to comply with the requirements of the MPEG-2 Transport Stream as defined in ATSC documents A/65C and A/69. It is not recommended to change the Factory Default values.
