1 11 AUGUST 2016 Pass it on ADVISORY: FEDS FEED FAMILIES U.S. Army Garrison Fort Carson and the Fort Carson Commissary are partnering to support the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Eighth Annual "Feds Feed Families" Food Drive (F4D) campaign, which runs through Aug. 31. F4D is an opportunity to give back to the communities in which personnel live, work, and train. Collection points for nonperishable food items are located near the exit doors of the Fort Carson Commissary. USAG Fort Carson is requesting support from community members to donate to this drive if they can. 1

15 EACH OB/GYN LACTATION SUPPORT --Evans hospital lactation support: To schedule an outpatient lactation support appointment call Support is offered Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Evans hospital's third floor Mountain Post Birthing Center (MPBC). The MPBC offers two breastfeeding support groups that meet the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the OB/GYN clinic's classroom. Breastfeeding classes are available on the first Thursday and third Tuesday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. in the OB/GYN classroom. Spouses or significant others are encouraged to attend these events; events and clinics are not held on federal holidays. --Baby Friendly Health Initiative at Evans hospital: The Lactation Support Team will cover the Baby Friendly Health Initiative, provide breastfeeding information, and field questions during special presentations on Aug. 16 at Evans hospital's BK George Hall, room 1018, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and again Aug. 23 at Cochrane Hall, room 2513, from 11 a.m. to noon. 21 FREE PAINTING CLASS FOR DEPLOYED SPOUSES/KIDS (FLYER) Thanks to a generous grant from the Mountain Post Spouses Club, we are able to offer these free canvas painting classes (a $20 value) for family members of a deployed Soldier. You may only attend once to allow maximum participation. Each date has 18 slots. All classes are first come first serve and no one can sign up a friend. All persons signing up for these FREE classes will need to have a copy of overseas deployment orders or a memo from the rear detachment commander stating their Soldier is deployed. We will maintain a wait list and 5 mins after the class starts we will give your spot to the next person on the wait list. If you are a no-show you may not sign up for another free class. 21
