We will cover features, capabilities, and components offered in both the Standard and Premium Editions of SBS Students will gain the real-world insights, workarounds, and troubleshooting tactics they will need for on-the-job results. Students will discover how to: Goals: Plan network infrastructure by evaluating your organization s business needs Build a fault-tolerant and cost-effective network Use virtualization with Hyper-V virtualization to install and manage your network efficiently Migrate an existing network from Small Business Server 2003 or later Manage file storage, and configure disks for data integrity and redundancy Configure and SMTP with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Organize and centralize security administration through Group Policy preferences Set up remote access through the web portal or with a VPN Tune your system to its optimum performance level Gain a working knowledge of installation, deployment, management and maintenance of Windows SBS 2011-based network environment. Students will also gain better understanding of: Server Manager, Virtualization, Group Policies, and configuration of integrated Exchange . Requirements: Windows Active Directory Services knowledge. Evaluation: There will be a weighed grade based on: = A; = B; = C; 65-69= D, 64 or less = F There will be homework assignments, 2 quizzes, a midterm and a final exam. Sept 9: Last date to drop a full-semester class and not owe fees; also last date to drop a class and NOT receive a W grade. Nov 18: Last date to drop a full-semester class with a W grade.
