5 Film Formation Mechanism Hydrolyzed Corn Starch naturally forms latex in water. As water evaporates, the particles coalesce to gradually form a film that is relatively water repellant. 6 Formulation Guidelines Disperses easily in water with simple stirring or homogenization at low shear The dispersion will thicken at about 15 to 20 % solids, but upon standing at room temperature overnight, it thins out to a low viscosity. The addition of a small amount of base (TEA, Sodium Carbonate, etc.) will facilitate the dispersion process. 0.3 to 0.5 % TEA based on the weight of Blanova BioForm being neutralized 0.1 to 0.3 % sodium carbonate based on the weight of Blanova BioForm being used Compatible with different gelling agents such as carbomer, xanthan gum and others Wetting the powder with glycols will facilitate the dispersion process 30% solids dispersions in water can be made and should be used within a couple of days Particles can agglomerate with age. 21 Skin Care Testing Protocol Back-up TestingProtocol Upon arrival, panelists were allowed to equilibrate to the ambient environment for 30 minutes. Photographs were taken at baseline (face devoid of any topical treatments) and five minutes following a single application of the test product (AMA Lab No. L-9389, Client No.: Eye Tightening Serum Concept Formulation (Honeywell A 107). Detailed, high resolution before and after digital images had fixed camera background, distances, angles, settings, lighting, panelist positioning, color bars, white balance, standardized and digitally certified unretouched. Each stage in the progression of the treatment regimen was photographically documented and the test area of involvement was isolated. Photographs were evaluated using image analysis software which allows the visible wrinkles to be captured and analyzed. The corresponding photographs were taken with fixed camera distances, angles and settings and analyzed using a scale in which the pixel (px) can be used as a unit of physical measurement. The source data consist of either the wrinkled area or the pore area at baseline and at 5 minutes post application.
