Company Regulations Valid as of December 2015 Dayschool Zurich

1 Company Regulations 1. Opening Hours Monday through Friday: 7.00 a.m. until 6.30 p.m. Late Care from 6.30 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. stays closed during the following days: During weekends and public holidays; Good Friday (Karfreitag), Easter Monday (Ostermontag), Labour Day (Tag der Arbeit), Ascension Day (Auffahrt), Whit Monday (Pfingstmontag), National Day (Nationalfeiertag), Christmas Day (Weihnachten), Boxing Day (Stephanstag). During company holidays between Christmas and New Year. The daycare reserves the right to close earlier on the following days: Maundy Thursday (Gründonnerstag), Sechseläuten, the day before Labour Day (Tag der Arbeit), the day before Ascension Day (Auffahrt), Knabenschiessen, and on Christmas Eve (Heiligabend). Parents receive specific information in regards to our holiday plan. Given that there is an availability, an Extra Care Day can in written be booked in advance. Dayschool also offers Late Care from 6.30 p.m. until 8.00 p.m. Late Care has to be booked well in advance to enable us to make the arrangements. We are not able to provide Late Care requested on the same day. Late Care and Extra Care Days will be charged for separately. 2. Conditions of admission Depending on the current occupancy, we accept children from 3 months up to school age. For pedagogical and social reasons, we have a minimum of 2 booked days per week. For kindergarten children the minimum is 3 days/week. We reserve the right of admission. Parents are requested to provide the daycare and the educators with relevant information relating to the child and the child s health. Children with special needs will be considered for admission (individual cases) after discussions with the parents. However, the educators have no special training for the care of children with special needs. In regards to our cultural diversity, accepts children from all nations and religions. 3. Application and Daycare Contract Parents apply for a placement using an Application Form which can be downloaded on our website A properly filled out Application can either be send per post, or personally handed to the daycare head office (Stampfenbachstr. 131, Zürich). An Application does however not guarantee a placement at our Dayschool. A non-written application is not taken into consideration. When the daycare is full, we uphold a waiting list free of charge. As soon as a placement is available in the foreseeable future, the daycare will be in contact with parents on the waiting list. Arrangements regarding date of entry, settling-in period etc. will be discussed in a personal conversation. Subsequently, parents will receive a Daycare Contract which confirms the date of entry, the agreed care days and the monthly daycare fee. By signing the contract, parents agree to the terms of the contract as well as to the Company Regulations including the termination period of three months.

2 4. Settling-in period The two week settling-in period takes place before the definitive admission and it is compulsory for all children. An individual settling-in period based on the child s specific needs and the family situation will be arranged with the group leader/management team. The costs for the settling in period is included in the administration fee. 5. Hours of drop-off and pick-up Children must be brought to our daycare latest by 9.00 a.m. At 9.00 a.m. we start our daily activities divided in separate groups, activities which lasts until 4.30 p.m. Parents are kindly requested to bring and pick up their children personally. Should they not be able to, will turn a child over to a grandparent/nanny/uncle only after the parents have given their written consent. The educators will provide parents with a pick-up permission form. In an exceptional situation, parents have the possibility of writing a temporary permission per . The Dayschool has the right to ask for identification. Parents are also asked to kindly introduce the team to persons who on a regular basis will be picking-up their child. Pick-up time is between 4.30 and 6.30 p.m. Given that the daycare closes at 6.30 p.m., it is necessary that parents schedule enough time to pick up their child. If parents arrive just before closing time, the educators will not have the possibility to properly inform them of the day s activities. Parents that arrive after closing hours are obliged to pay 25 CHF for each beginning 15 minutes for each child. As soon as the parents arrive in the afternoon and greet their children, the responsibility for the child is automatically transferred to the parents. Parents are also responsible for their child during special events that takes place at our Dayschool. 6. Communication with parents Parents are requested to schedule enough time for bringing and picking up their child. During pick-up in the afternoon, important information is exchanged and the contact between parents and educators is maintained. In addition, we arrange parent-teacher conversation and parents evenings on a regular basis. Please remember to inform us as soon as your details changes (phone number, address). An E- Mail and a notice on the parent s board both qualify as an effective announcement of information. 7. Healthy nutrition The meals at Dayschool are child appropriate, balanced, healthy and rich in variety. Fresh ingredients are significant. We have an in-house kitchen and an educated cook that prepares lunch for the children and the adults. Parents with infants are able to bring their own baby mesh. Please do not allow your child to bring any sweets or sweet beverages. For a birthday celebration, children may however bring cake or ice cream. Our nutrition plan is balanced as well as rich in variety. Children are offered lunch as well as snacks in the morning and in the afternoon. If needed, we provide late children with a little snack after 5.30 p.m. We do not serve dinner. Tap water is available to all children at all times. We feed infants according to their own schedule. Parents are kindly requested to bring special diet (such as hypoallergenic milk...) themselves. Allergies and religion are taken into consideration to the extent of our possibilities. Should a child be on a special diet, parents need to confirm the possibilities of us providing a special diet for one particular child with the management team. Sweets and chewing-gum are not allowed in our daycare.

3 8. Clothes for play and personal toys Children should wear comfortable clothes which may get dirty and are suitable for the current weather. Since many of our activities takes place outside regardless of weather, children need a set of spare clothes, rainwear and wellingtons. Please name your children s clothes, shoes, jackets etc. Dirty clothes will be returned to the parents for washing at the end of the day. Please provide the daycare with the following set of spare clothes: Underwear Socks Trousers Pullover T-Shirt Wellingtons Rainwear Slippers Swimsuit (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten) Swim support (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten) During winter please remember: Tights, gloves, hat, jacket, warm boots During summer please remember: Sun hat, sunglasses, sun lotion We provide the children with age appropriate toys. Children attending are allowed to bring their own stuffed animals and dummies. The daycare will however not be held liable for clothes and personal belonging such as toys. We do not allow toy weapons in our Dayschool. 9. Fee regulations Starting day care: Daily day care fee: One-time non-refundable Administration fee: 750 CHF (Which includes the costs for the two week settling in period) Security Deposit: one monthly daycare fee For children 19 months until kindergarten: 130 CHF/Child/Day For children under 19 months: 140 CHF/Child/Day For children in official kindergarten, short model: 100 CHF/Child/Day For children in official kindergarten, long model: 125 CHF/Child/day Extra Care Day: 140 CHF/Child/Day The monthly daycare fee is based on the number of booked care days per week multiplied by 4.2. The monthly fee must be paid in advanced by standing order by the 25 th. It remains the same regardless of absence due to illness, family holidays, public holidays or company holidays. Absence can not be made up for at a later date. Extra Care Days, Late Care and Late Arrival will be billed for separately. The monthly daycare fee is to be paid to the following account: Stampfenbachstrasse Zürich Bank clearing no.: 700 IBAN: CH Bank account no.:

4 Late Care from 6.30 to 8.00 p.m. needs to be booked well in advance in order for us to make the right arrangements. Parents are asked to pay for Late Care in cash upon arrival. The fees for Late Care are: 6.30 p.m p.m. 20 CHF 6.30 p.m p.m. 35 CHF 6.30 p.m p.m. 50 CHF If parents arrive late, they are charged with a Late Arrival fee of 25 CHF for each beginning 15 minutes and for each child. Parents that arrive at 7.00 p.m. are therefore requested 50 CHF in cash upon arrival (optional separate invoice). Each child is entitled to approximately ten settling-in appointments within two weeks, which are included in the administration fee. Excursions and special activities are included in the monthly fee. Parents receive a 10% discount for every additional sibling. New parents are requested to pay a Security Deposit of one monthly daycare fee with the first invoice. When the family leaves our daycare, given that the termination period is respected and that there are no open fees, the Security Deposit will be reimbursed without interest within six months after the last day care day, as following: 100 % redemption after a daycare period of at least 1 year 50 % redemption after a daycare period of 6-12 months In case of an extraordinary termination or delay of payments, the security deposit will not be reimbursed or as the case may be, only the difference will be reimbursed. Price alternations will be announced in written by the management team at least three months in advance. 10. Termination of Daycare Contract Both parties may terminate the Daycare Contract at three months notice to expire at the end of a calendar month. A termination must be submitted in writing. Should the parents choose to leave the daycare before the end of the termination period or should the parents leave the daycare without a written letter of termination, the Dayschool will charge the parents in full for the remaining period. Should the family decide not to start and terminate the daycare contract sooner than the 3 month period of notice, we require CHF for administrative costs. The notice must be in written. Serious violations against the company regulations of, as well as delayed payments may lead to an immediate termination of Daycare Contract. Should the daycare or the daycare activities repeatedly be disrupted by a child s or a parent s intolerable behaviour, the management team will personally be in contact with the concerning parents. Should another solution not be found, the daycare management has the right to terminate the Daycare Contract with immediate effect. This decision must be communicated in written. 11. Alternation of Daycare Contract Care days are agreed to with the signing of the Daycare Contract and are not changeable on a week to week basis. Given that there is an availability care days can be changed through an alternation of the Daycare Contract. Any changes must be confirmed with the management team. The termination period of three months applies when parents wish to reduce the amount of care days. Parents need to apply for

5 the reduction in writing. Given that the capacity situation allows for it, parents have the possibility (when there is an exceptional need) to ask for an extra care day. An Extra Care Day costs 140 CHF for all children and is charged for separately. 12. Illness, emergency and absence At the start of our collaboration, parents are obliged to inform the if the child suffers from a chronic illness or if the child for other reasons is on medications. Children that are ill, children that are on strong medication or children that have a contagious illness should remain at home. We do not have the capacity to care for ill children. Ill children are requested to stay at home to reduce the risk of contagion. When is a child ill/sick? A child with a temperature of 38 degrees A child who is throwing up or has diarrhoea A child who complains of having intense pains A child who suffers from an infectious disease Parents are responsible for taking their child to regular health check-ups. If a child gets ill or suffers an accident during the day, the parents will be informed and requested to pick up their child immediately. In case parents are not reachable, our team will make necessary decision according to their best knowledge. In an uncertain situation, the Dayschool may contact a doctor or the Children s Hospital Zürich ( ) for a consultation. By signing the Daycare Contract, parents automatically give their consent that the care givers at Dayschool are authorised, in an emergency, to administer medication and to bring the child to a doctor/children s hospital. All related costs such as taxi fare, ambulance or medical treatment, must be covered in full by the parents. In emergencies, we follow instructions given by a doctor or the Children s Hospital. We inform parents immediately. All costs for medical treatments are covered by the parents. Please inform the management team if you change paediatricians. According to our regulations, educators at do not normally administer prescription medication to children visiting the daycare. Should the child regularly need to take medication or is the child temporary in need of medication, parents need to discuss the situation with the management team. The educators are allowed to administer medication only with a written permission form signed by the parents. Our educators are free of any responsibility of correct or regular administration of medicine. We administer medication only according to the specific dosage written on the label. We do not increase the dosage to honor parent s request. All parents are informed when we have a contagious child disease such as Chicken Pox, Scarlet fever and lice in the house. The daycare is however under no circumstances allowed to announce the name of the child. The Dayschool has the right to ask for a clearance certificate from the child s doctor before the child is allowed back to daycare. For organizational reasons, the daycare must be notified of any absences latest by 9.00 a.m. Parents are also asked to inform us of any holidays as soon as possible, latest two weeks in advance. Absence cannot be compensated for at a later date. Absence cannot be compensated for financially with one exception: After a 30 day absence due to illness or accident (medical certificate required), the monthly daycare fee will be reduced with 50%.

6 13. Insurance Parents are obligated to have an accident, health and personal liability insurance for their child. The daycare is not liable for any lost personal items or personal items damaged by other children (toys, clothes and jewellery). The daycare disclaims any liability for damages caused by children attending. Parents assume responsibility for the way to and back from kindergarten. The above stated company regulations are effective as soon as our services are taken into use. The original company regulations are in German. This document is a translation.
