2 General Notes Regarding Printers Alarm and fault messages, and also important operation procedures performed at the central control unit (e.g. arming/daytime operation) can be output on the printer. Type of message Example of a print out Detector zone no. Detector no. If a clear text is parameterized for a detector, this is also printed. The date and time is printed on every print out. The most recent event is always at the top of the print out. Entries stored in the background memory can also be printed if the operator has the appropriate operation authorization. Always ensure that the printer cover panel is closed properly. If the device contact incorporated in the printer housing is opened, messages cannot be printed since the printer does not have its own message memory. In this case, the message only appears on the display of the UEZ. When the printer is not being used, check to ensure that there is an adequate supply of paper on the roll. If the supply of paper is nearing its end, this is indicated by a message on the display of the UEZ. When this message appears, you still have enough paper on the roll to print 00 lines of text. The paper roll can be changed while the system is in operation. Use only the metallic coated paper specified by the manufacturer of the UEZ! In the case of printers without a collecting spool, the print outs can be torn off using the serrated edge. 3 Changing the Paper Roll. Remove the safety screw of the printer cover () on the right side of the printer. Pull open the printer cover panel () (it will rest at an angle of approx. 45 ).. Press the tab (3) to the left and then pull out the paper roll unit (4) until it rests against the tab (3) at an angle of approx A 3

4 Changing the Paper Roll 3. Pull the paper roll () upwards until it is released form the two metal clips (small arrows). Remove the paper left in the printer by lifting the paper locking lever () and simultaneously pulling out the remaining paper. Slide the empty paper roll off the support pin. Slide a new paper roll onto the support pin. 4. Continued on the following page A 4

5 Changing the Paper Roll 5. Guide the paper behind the plastic pin () and push the new paper roll back between the two metal clips. Guide the paper under the wire guide and through the paper slit (). Feed the paper through to the printer cover panel (4) using the knurled wheel (3) or by pressing the paper feed button. 6. If necessary, tension the paper from the supply roll by pressing the paper feed button. Push the tab (5) outwards and let the paper roll unit fall back into its original position Paper feed button A 5

6 Changing the Paper Roll 7. Close the print cover panel (). Ensure that you keep the paper tensioned when doing this (). Ensure that the printer cover panel is closed properly! Secure the printer cover by fastening the safety screw (see point.). Press the paper feed button. Tear off the printer paper using the serrated edge A 6

Wind on the paper using the knurled wheel () or the paper feed button () until the last line of text has passed through the printer. Then tear off the printed paper from the remaining paper on the supply roll. Hold the printed paper on the collecting spool using one hand and remove the securing disk by pulling to the left. Remove the printed paper roll from the collecting spool. 4. Lift the empty paper roll (3) until it is released from the two metal clips (small arrows). Remove the remaining paper from the printer by lifting the paper locking lever (4) and simultaneously pulling out the remaining paper. 4 3 Continued on the following page A 8

9 Changing the Paper Roll (for Units with a Collecting Spool) 5. Slide the empty paper roll off the support pin. Slide a new paper roll onto the support pin. 6. Guide the paper behind the plastic pin () and push the new paper roll back between the two metal clips. Guide the paper under the wire guide and through the paper slit (). Feed the paper through to the collecting spool using the knurled wheel (3) or by pressing the paper feed button A 9

10 Changing the Paper Roll (for Units with a Collecting Spool) 7. Secure the paper with at least one of the pins () of the securing disk. When replacing the disk, always slide the securing pins along the guide slots of the collecting spool. Push the metal lever () outwards and let the collecting spool fall back into its original position. If necessary, tension the paper by pressing the paper feed button. 8.
