The Raptors are about to be unleashed Check out PAGE 2 for the run down of the latest tennis hit, the Sunshine Coast Tennis League and our team, the RAPTORS FAST 4 TENNIS GRAND FINAL CONTENTS What a great night we had to end our latest Fast4 competition. Close tennis, great Sunshine Coast weather and of course, fantastic play. Team Murray, with Michael Poulos, Mark Newman (subbing for Sam Catalano), Ben Alexander, Jarod Sargent and Cameron Poulos defeated Team Federer with Brad Cooper, Ben Rumble, Troy and Jack Dixon and Adrian Cooper by five sets to three. Jarod Sargent made it two from two when his team won the division 2 grand final by five sets to three. His team with father Bruce, Cooper Drew and Jacob Trend proved worthy champions. 2 ISSUE 6 AUGUST, 2016 RAPTORS SET TO STRIKE The Sunshine Coast Regional Tennis Centre will be well represented in the new Sunshine Coast Tennis League. With strong teams entered in the Division 1 league and also the junior league, we look forward to a great 6 weeks of tennis. The matches kick off at Coolum, before rounds at Mooloolaba and Nambour, before Caloundra host the Grand Final day on October 15. Our Division 1 team will consist of Trent Drew, Will Jackson, Ben Rumble, Ashley Self, Richard Myors, Simon Pedler, Ron Flynn, Tyler Inglis, Michelle Noffke and Leanne Fraser. Our Juniors will have Matt Rankin, Ben Davis, Jack Dixon, Aidan Brighouse, Cameron Poulos, Zoe Scott and Kristen Cavana. Ask our staff for all the dates of play and come and watch some terrific tennis. We wish our Raptor representatives all the best. Go team! HANDY HINT OF THE MONTH Rehydrate a lot of players fail to hydrate properly especially in winter remember to take your water bottle on court to training and matches and constantly sip it at breaks or change of ends By the time you feel thirsty you are already on the way to being dehydrated COMING EVENTS. 5 ETI WELCOMES THREE NEW STAFF RICHARD MYORS Richard has recently commenced his Tennis Australia Junior Development Coaching Qualification. Richard trains in ETI's full-time program and is currently enrolled at USC studying a Sport & Exercise Science Degree. Richard has a lot of coaching experience and specialises in Tennis Australia's hot shots program delivery. Richard works as our In-School professional delivery tennis in both Buderim and Chancellor Park schools. ETI COACH RICHARD MYORS WILL JACKSON Will has recently commenced his Tennis Australia Junior Development Coaching Qualification. Will trains in ETI's full-time program and is aiming to make a life in tennis. Will has a lot of coaching experience and specialises in Tennis Australia's hot shots program delivery KELLY INGHAM Kelly works part-time in our admin role at the Sunshine Coast Regional Tennis Centre pro-shop. Kelly is currently studying at USC. She is taking care of administration, enrolments, and court bookings on a Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon ETI COACH WILL JACKSON ETI STAFF MEMBER KELLY INGHAM
