Fuji Explore the shrines & temples of Kyoto Enjoy free time in Tokyo, Hiroshima, & Osaka Description Overview: Get picked up at the airport in Tokyo on Day 1 and enjoy a free day in the capital on Days 2&3. Transfer to Hakone to experience breathtaking and iconic Mt. Fuji on Day 4 before heading to Kyoto on Day 5 for a city tour on Day 6 and self-guided day trip to Nara on Day 7. Catch a bullet train to Hiroshima on Day 8 and enjoy free time in the historic city on Days 9 & 10. On Day 11 you will transfer to Osaka and spend a free day in the high-energy city on Day 12 before being dropped off at the Osaka airport on Day 13, ending your trip. Day by Day Itinerary: Day 1: Tokyo Airport Pick-Up Upon arrival at the airport in Tokyo you will be picked up and transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore, and get settled in. Overnight in Tokyo.

2 Day 2: Tokyo Free Day After breakfast, enjoy a free day on your own in the world's biggest city. For adventurers and foodies we recommend getting up at the crack of dawn to visit the famous Tsukiji Fish Market, the world's biggest and busiest fish market where you can watch tuna bidding wars and enjoy a fresh sushi breakfast. Or you can sleep in and treat yourself to tea at a cat cafe or go to Shibuya to experience the world's busiest pedestrian crossing. Overnight in Tokyo. Day 3: Tokyo Free Day After breakfast, enjoy another free day in this futuristic metropolis. You can visit Senso-ji and Meiji, Tokyo's most famous buddhist temple and shinto shrine, respectively, or head to the peaceful and beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Treat yourself to traditional Japanese food at one of the millions of incredible restaurants in Japan, from fragrant and cheap ramen shops to fine dining--tokyo has the most 3* Michelin restaurants in the world, beating out Paris as the true foodie capital. Overnight in Tokyo. Day 4: Transfer to Hakone - Mt. Fuji Excursion (L) After breakfast you will check out of your accommodation and get picked up for an early morning departure to reach the Hakone Area by bus. Hakone is the gateway to Mt. Fuji and its surrounding national park, famous for its wonderful onsen (natural hot springs) and beautiful natural landscapes. Visit the Fuji Visitor Centre and the famous Mt. Fuji 5th Station, the gateway to the iconic mountain and the perfect place to view its stoic slopes. After lunch, take a boat cruise on the picturesque lake Ashi and visit the Mt. Komagatake Ropeway that will carry you from the shores of the lake to the top of Mt. Komagatake for an amazing view of the breathtaking Hakone region, majestic Mt. Fuji, and the bucolic Japanese countryside. Overnight in Hakone. Day 5: Transfer to Kyoto After breakfast check out of your accommodation and make your own way to the Odawara station,

3 where you will catch a high-speed bullet train to Kyoto, the cultural capital and stronghold of Geisha tradition in Japan. Check into your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the afternoon in this picturesque town at your leisure. Overnight in Kyoto. Day 6: Half-Day Kyoto Tour After breakfast, enjoy a free morning to explore Kyoto before making your way to Kyoto station, the meeting point for your half-day city tour. Visit one of Japan's largest torii gates at the Heian Shrine featuring a beautiful garden with a central pond and stepping stones leading to a small Soryu-ike (Green Dragon) pond. Then, continue to Sanjusangendo Temple with 1,001 armed Kannon Goddess statues (the Goddess of Mercy). Finally, visit the Kiyomizu-dera temple situated on Mt. Otowa with an impressive veranda standing 13-metres in height and built without any nails. Awe at the breathtaking view and if you're lucky to be visiting in fall you will see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom. Have dinner on your own tonight and overnight in Kyoto. Day 7: Kyoto & Self-Guided Nara Day-Trip Have an early breakfast this morning at your accommodation and then start your self-guided day trip by using your included JR Pass to board the limited express train from Kyoto to Nara. Visit the best highlights of the city starting with Isui Garden, one of the most charming in the city of Nara. From here you can go to the Todai-ji Temple to see the world's largest wooden building, Daibutsu-den, and a 15-metre high bronze Buddha statue. And then there's the world-famous cuteness overload of Nara Park, a local park where the more than 1,000 resident deer are so used to human visitors that they will come right up to you, eat out of your hand, and hang out like old buddies. Return to Kyoto by train on your own and overnight. PLEASE NOTE that today's self-guided tour is just a suggested itinerary, and you may spend a free day in Kyoto instead. The transportation to and from Nara is included in the price of your JR pass, but may be full if you do not book in advance. Day 8: Transfer to Hiroshima After breakfast check out of your accommodation and make your own way to Kyoto Station for your bullet train to Hiroshima. Upon arrival check in to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of

4 the day at your leisure. Overnight in Hiroshima. Day 9: Hiroshima Free Day After breakfast enjoy a free day to explore beautiful and historic Hiroshima. Visit the stunning Peace Memorial Park and its museum to pay respects to the victims of the World War II atomic bomb, stroll the city streets, visit the beautiful Shukkei-en Garden, or tour the gorgeous Hiroshima Castle. Overnight in Hiroshima. Day 10: Hiroshima Free Day After breakfast enjoy another free day at your leisure in Hiroshima. Today we recommend taking a short ferry ride to Miyajima Island (meaning "Shrine Island") on the Seto Inland Sea, where you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with wildlife, shrines, temples and local delicacies. Don't miss the stunning Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight in Hiroshima. Day 11: Transfer to Osaka After breakfast check out of your accommodation and make your own way to Hiroshima Station for your bullet train to Osaka. Upon arrival check in to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Osaka. Day 12: Osaka Free Day After breakfast enjoy a free day in the more outgoing and casual atmosphere of Osaka. Today you can visit the stunning and historic Osaka castle, try the region's famous street food, and go explore Dotonbori, famous for its eccentric atmosphere, huge neon signs, and high-energy nightlife.
