12 Critical Reception Pre-Release PlayStation 4 Came out as a serious frontrunner due to price, graphics Marketed directly to gamers, made wise business choices in regard to DRM Xbox One Had impressive hardware to back it up, however fell short on marketing Initial statements made with regard to the system such as the DRM controversy limiting the use and resale of used games also caused harm Marketed the console largely as an entertainment hub Using a more familial target audience
