2 American School of Paris Spring : April 20 24, 2015 Summer: June 22-26; July 6-10, 2015 On voyage à Paris, ça te dit?! FRENCH IMMERSION WEEK Join students in our Anglophone community and from across Europe to participate in a French language immersion program with content-based studies, activities in French, and excursions in Paris. French language course (15 hours per week; 9h30 12h30) Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced/Fluent Optional*: Activities and Excursions in French (10 hours per week; 13h30 16h00**) *must be enrolled in language course to participate **some days may end after 16h00 due to excursion times (Minimum of 8 students required for a class section; class size limit 15) French Level: minimum 2 years of French language course in school Age / School grades: Grades 3-5; 6-8; 9-12 (levels will depend on enrollment) Housing Option 1: Student will be traveling to Paris and staying with his/her own family. Housing Option 2: Student will be hosted by a French family with children in our program; breakfast and dinners provided; lunch will be provided at the school each day. Lunch at school: Complete meal with salad, main course, dessert, and bottle of water. Transport options: Private school bus (extra charge) or public transport daily; Options also for pick-up and drop-off at airport/train station on days of arrival and depart. The school is located on a private campus, and it is secure and gated and closed to the public; Security staff on site 24 hours a day.

3 Summer /Autumn : mid-august 2015 Dates to be determined LEARNING FRENCH Join students from the Anglophone community who are preparing for their stay in France (or would simply like a refresher course!) with a beginner or intermediate language program, with activities in French and excursions in Paris. French language course for Beginning and Intermediate-level students (15 hours per week; 9h30 12h30) Optional*: Activities and excursions in French (10 hours per week; 13h30 16h00*) *must be enrolled in language course to particapte **some days may end after 16h00 due to excursion times (Minimum of 15 students required limited to 30 students) Age / School grades: years, Grades 6-8 (American system); years, grades 9-12 (American) Lunch at school: Complete meal with salad, main course, dessert, and bottle of water. Our vacation classes and Summer Camp offer as it has for so many years an experience that is academically exceptional to students. And this year, we are exploring new horizons with our French Immersion Week, offering your children an enriching opportunity to progress in both their linguistic and cultural knowledge of the French. The advanced and fluent sections are also ideal for students preparing for the AP and IB exams. With an intensive language course, appealing activities in French, and exciting excursions to such renowned sites as the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Versailles, students will have a memorable week in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! And if you are hosted by a family, you will be even more fortunate, as you will have a truly cultural experience! French Language Immersion Intensive language course (15 hours): We offer not only a language class but a course that embraces all aspects of French culture, its history and traditions. In addition, we have built our strong reputation from the quality of our instruction, as our teachers are not only maternal-tongue speakers, they have experience in education and language learning and accredited in the teaching of French. With their energy, the lessons are stimulating and invigorating. Our mission : develop and challenge each student to develop and refine their language skills in French, one of the important world languages today. Language Immersion with Activities Activities en French: in addition to the English classes each morning, students will participate in an activity (such as Hip-hop dance in French or Cooking in French) and then visit sites throughout Paris with a French guide providing tours in French (respective to level). Visits to world-renowned sites will include several of the following : the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, Pompidou Center, Arc de Triomphe and Versailles, along with excursions to the traditional Paris cafés and markets and parks, which will immerse students in a true French experience (for students who prefer a sports experience in French, we have for you our French-Tennis option with French instructors! Excursions and housing can be planned for the day before and/or the day after the course (i.e. Sunday and Saturday) in order for students to have flexible travel schedules.
