This session explains support services available to assist students as well as tips on parenting at a distance. Information on Timetabling, Financial Assistance, Studylink and Budgeting. From one student to another, this session will provide you with essential information for your first few weeks at uni. The advantages and challenges of starting an undergraduate programme for students who have taken a break from study. A chance to meet other new postgraduate students, ask questions, and find out about what lies ahead. Lunch is on us! Meet academic staff, older students, and other new students studying your degree programme over a bite to eat. How will you succeed academically at Massey? Come and hear from some great lecturers and staff from the Centre for Teaching and Learning to help you begin your academic journey. An opportunity to meet new people, work as a team, get to know your campus, and win some amazing prizes - open to all students. The general principles of effective time use and time management for university study. How to prioritise your workload, practical time-management strategies, and identifying and overcoming obstructions. How to find and read your timetable, and assistance with booking labs and tutorials. Please bring your student ID number and PIN. Success with your final grades is determined by how well you do in the different assessments you are given. This session should help you approach assignments with confidence. Be part of setting an official Guiness World Record! All we can tell you is be prepared to get creative! This time is set aside for you to meet support staff and services dedicated to you as dedicated to you as a Māori or Pasifika student. The Massey Guides will show you the ins and outs of Palmy, which will finish with a picnic lunch at the Ashhurst Domain (bring your own lunch).
