1 CHILDREN S PLAYGROUND COMMUNITY DOG PARK COMMUNITY GARDEN Updated: September Funding Eligibility and Tbaytel for Good Community Fund has three main funding programs: Good Neighbour, Good Schools and Good Community. Under these three programs, we seek projects that have a positive impact on individuals, families, neighbourhoods, schools and communities across Northern Ontario. Please read below for full details on our funding criteria and submission guidelines. If you meet any of the below criteria, it's a good start! We re in it together.
2 Funding Eligibility & Good Neighbour Program Before completing an application, work with local friends, family and neighbours to identify a project that meets the following eligibility requirements: Project support must be given by neighbours and demonstrated in applications; Applications must be submitted by an individual who is a resident of Northern Ontario within Tbaytel s serving territory; Individuals of all ages may apply (children under 16 years of age must be supported by an adult); Projects must have the ability to address a neighbourhood need: the enhancement of local spaces or physical surroundings, or improve the overall quality of life for individuals and families in the neighbourhood; Local residents living in the neighbourhood must be involved in the identification and implementation of projects; Projects must be volunteer driven and engage the neighbourhood; Applicants must match funding received from Tbaytel for Good Community Fund with contributions of volunteer time, services or products; Any applications for intitatives relating to public property must have official authorization from their municipality; Political parties; Individuals, organizations or groups that discriminate by race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or national origin; Individuals or projects outside of Tbaytel s serving territory; Sponsorship, advertising and promotion alone, which primarily generate financial returns; Applications that solely seek support for salaries and wages; Organizations with which association can be potentially harmful to the Tbaytel brand. corporate sponsorship and Tbaytel for Good - in the last year Follow these five easy steps to make your application for funding: 1. Complete the short online Application Form at: www. tbaytelforgood.net with personal information. 2. Include a brief project description on the Application Form including three hashtags that describe why your project is good for the neighbourhood; 3. Upload a photo or video of your neigbourhood project space; 4. Include a minimum of five references of support for your project from residents living in the neighbourhood. 5. Click submit to send your application for consideration. By submitting an application, individuals agree to the Terms & Conditions of this program and to have their project information used for Tbaytel marketing and promotional purposes. Applicants will also be required to sign funding agreements with Tbaytel with stated commitments for project outcomes, budget and timelines.
3 Funding Eligibility & Good Schools Program Before completing an application, identify a school project that meets the following eligibility requirements: Project support must be given by the school and demonstrated in applications; Applications should be submitted by a representative of a school board, school, educator, parent council, student council, student or school volunteer of the recipient school project; Applicants must be minimum 18 years of age; Projects must benefit a minimum of 10 students in the elementary or secondary school system; Projects must support student discovery and ability to learn by : improving readiness to learn supporting student wellness improving student literacy and numeracy offering support and mentorship programs encouraging student volunteerism Applicants must demonstrate collaboration and innovation in their project submissions. Post-secondary institutions; Preschool or nursery school programs; Student bursaries or scholarships; Teacher training or professional development; Projects outside of Tbaytel s serving territory; Overseas projects; Sponsorship, advertising and promotion alone, which primarily generate financial returns; Applications that solely seek support for salaries and wages; Schools or projects with which association can be potentially harmful to the Tbaytel brand. corporate sponsorship and Tbaytel for Good - in the last year Follow these five (5) easy steps to make your application for funding: 1. Include a brief project description on the Application Form including five hashtags that describe why your project is good for the school; 3. Shoot and upload a one minute video to show the need for the project; 4. Include a letter of support for your project from the school Principal; 5. Submit a budget outlining how the funds will be spent. By submitting an application, applicants and participating schools agree to the Terms & Conditions of this program and to have their project information used for Tbaytel marketing and promotional purposes. Applicants will also be required to sign funding agreements with Tbaytel with stated commitments for project outcomes, budget and timelines.
4 Funding Eligibility & Good Community Program Before completing an application, please ensure your project meets the following eligibility requirements: Applications must be submitted by an incorporated non-profit or charitable organization whose primary purpose and activities are to benefit Northern Ontario communities within Tbaytel s serving territory; OR An unincorporated volunteer community group that is endorsed by an eligible organization. Endorsing organizations may be non-profit or municipalities who agree to receive, administer and account for funding on behalf of a community group; Projects must focus on one of the following five key areas: Animal Welfare Community Wellness Recreation & Culture Environment Innovation & Technology. Projects must aim to make a positive difference for local communities; Projects must have a volunteer component and engage the community; Projects outside of Tbaytel s serving territory; Political parties; Religious groups or organizations; Universities or colleges; Individuals, organizations or groups that discriminate by race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or national origin; Salaries and wages; Sponsorship, advertising and promotion alone, which primarily generate financial returns; Projects with which association can be potentially harmful to the Tbaytel brand. corporate sponsorship and Tbaytel for Good - in the last year Follow these easy steps to make your application for funding: 1. Include a brief project description on the Application Form that describes your project and its expected community impact; 3. Shoot and upload a one minute video to show the need for the project; 4. Submit a complete budget outlining how funds will be spent. By submitting an application, individuals agree to the Terms & Conditions of this program and to have their project information used for Tbaytel marketing and promotional purposes. Applicants will also be required to sign funding agreements with Tbaytel with stated commitments for project outcomes, budget and timelines.
5 Funding Eligibility & Other Useful Guidelines Applicants: Anyone who submits an application must reside in Northern Ontario and be 18 years of age or older. Those under the age of majority must have their ideas approved and endorsed by a responsible adult, whether a parent, guardian, school representative or administrative representative from the non-profit organization on behalf of which the applicant is submitting a funding application. Tbaytel employees, agents and representatives are not eligible to submit an application for funding, but are permitted to be involved in or connected to, whether personally or through family connections, to a Community Fund project. Tbaytel employees, agents and representatives are eligible to apply for funding for a community project through the Tbaytel Employees for Good program. Project Duration Tbaytel for Good Community Fund will only fund projects that last a maximum of one year in duration. These criteria are non-negotiable and we will not accept applications for projects that intend to last longer than one year. Project Selection All decisions regarding the awarding of funds are made by an independent Tbaytel for Good Community Fund Selection Committee comprised of Tbaytel employees, dealers and community stakeholders from across the region. Meetings are held quarterly to review submissions and award funding. All decisions made by the Selection Committee are final. By applying for funding, applicants and fund recipients explicitly agree to abide by these Funding Eligibility & as well as our Terms & Conditions. Project Evaluation Our involvement doesn t end with awarding funding to successful program applicants. Once a successful project has been completed we require a project report that allows us to assess if the participant has delivered the project he or she was awarded funding for. We will require copies of receipts or invoices, visual documentation that demonstrates the project in action, and for larger projects, community impact evaluations. Our team will work with funding recipients to help them through the process. Payment of Grants Funding is paid by cheque as soon as a successful project has been selected to receive an award. We expect successful participants to start spending the funding within one month of payment. We also expect funding to have been fully spent by the end of 12 months from payment. Tbaytel Serving Territory The three funding programs are open to applicants and projects of Northern Ontario located within the Tbaytel serving territory. The territory includes but is not limited to the following communities: Atikokan Batchwana Bay Beardmore Bellevue Caramat Chapleau Dryden Dubreuilville Ear Falls Fort Frances Fraser River Geraldton Hawk Junction Hemlo Hornepayne Hudson Ignace Kenora Longlac Manitouwadge Marathon Miraki Montreal River Morson Nakina Nipigon Perrault Falls Rainy River Raith Red Lake Searchmont Shabaqua Sioux Lookout Terrace Bay Thunder Bay Upsala Wawa White River For more information about current programs and closing dates, please visit our website at:
