4 Financial Aid Terms and Expectations Our Financial Aid Committee carefully looks over every application we receive and we work hard to understand your family s needs before making an award determination. This form explains what the applicant should expect from SPARC during this process as well as what responsibilities SPARC asks of you. 1. All financial aid applications are treated as confidential and we ask that you help us in that process by blacking out any sensitive financial information such as your Social Security Number from your application. All supporting financial documents will be destroyed within one year of the application deadline. 2. Submit the application no later than the Tuesday, September 8 deadline. Any application submitted later than 5pm on Tuesday, September 8 will not be considered. 3. SPARC will notify you of your award amount no later than Tuesday, September 15. Please confirm at that time whether or not you are accepting the awarded amount. 4. If you are awarded partial aid, SPARC will work with you to set up a payment plan for the remaining balance due. You will be notified no later than Tuesday, September 15 of the outcome of your application. Fall classes begin the week of September 21. For example, you can apply for aid for a Mini SPARC class for one student and a SPARC Plugs class for another. What if I have a balance left to pay after aid is awarded? o If you have a balance to pay for fall, we will work with you to create a payment plan! 5
