3 Toddler Take A Look At LIHA This week we painted our Chanukiot and we decorated it! We sent it home to light them on Chanukah. We also made a blue collage and we continued learning the star shape. Shabbat Shalom & Happy Chanukah! Nursery Hanukah is almost here! The children had a wonderful Chanukah menorah making workshop when moms, dads and grandpas joined our class. All the menorahs are true works of art and we hope the children will light them for many years to come. Our Shabbat Ima & Abba are Aviva & Benyamin Shabbat shalom & Happy Chanukah Pre K Thank you so much to everyone for coming to our Chanukah workshop. We enjoyed sharing our projects and songs with you! Coming home this week are quite a few projects that we hope you will use to enhance your Chanukah! Chanukiah - shaped from clay and painted Drip Mat - stamped with paint and brachot and a picture. It goes underneath the chanukiah. Candle holder - tissue papered and glued to decorate. Fill with a box of candles to use with the chanukiah. Chanukah present and card - We hope you enjoy the gift your child made for you! We hope you enjoy the stained glass dreidel and paper chanukiah your children used their fine muscles to create for you to hang up and decorate. Chag Sameach

4 Kindergarten English How does a panda change in its first year of life? We answered this question by reading the story Little Panda by Joanne Ryder. The students loved to learn about pandas! We learned how to write the letters qu and z. We also learned about verbs. Shabbat shalom! Hope you all have an amazing holiday! Kindergarten Hebrew What a performance!!! Didn't they do well!! Thank you for coming and making this occasion so special!! This week we learned a new letter Yood " " and the words were; Yad ( hand ), yeled ( boy ) and Yalda (girl ). Please please please keep reviewing the reading sheets (a few minutes a day will be great!) during the holidays. Moreover we didn t miss in Parashat Vayeshev!! We learned how Yakov favored Yosef more than his other sons and made him a beautiful coat. We also talked about the dreams that Yosef had and where he ended up!!!!! Our were Shira & Yoel 1 st Grade English This week the students completed their sentence buddies. They all look great! This buddy helped us understand that all good sentences start with a capital, have a noun, a verb and end with an end mark like?!. In math we continue to work on adding and subtracting. We learned how to use a hundred chart to add and subtract. Hope everyone has a wonderful Chanukah! 1st Grade Hebrew This week I gave each kid his part for our party to study over vacation, please make sure to practice every day and read from every day. Save the date for the party, it will be on February 8. The kids enjoyed all the special activities for Chanukah and delicious. We learned. Wishing you Shabbat Shalom and happy Chanukah!!

5 2 nd Grade English This week the second grade finished Unit 3 in science. They truly enjoyed learning about different animals. Second grade made edible dreidels using pretzels, chocolate, and marshmallows. We had a wonderful week! Shabbat Shalom! 2 nd Grade Hebrew The yeladim learned so much about the upcoming holiday of Chanukah. The children can share with you the story, the miracles, the dinims and the berachot... We continue learning more vocabulary. This time, to them was about Chanukah. And, we finished the week by having a little party, eating donuts in honor of our progress and this beautiful Holiday of Lights. But, we never forget to take time to learn about the Parashat of the week: Parashat Vayeshev. We learned so much from the beginning of the year. I am very honored to be their teacher. Please make the children practice the Tefillah until Shema (all the hallelujah). And, please, make the children learn the songs and practice their parts. Enjoy this break to have more bonds with your little angels. Shabath shalom and Hag Sameach Morots 2nd grade 3 rd Grade English This week the students had a busy week! They sang for the seniors at the Atrium in Great Neck. They did a wonderful job! They also had fun with this weeks do now activity. The theme was Chanukah. They loved figuring out the riddles. We also made edible dreidels using pretzel rods and marshmallows! Hope everyone has a wonderful Chanukah! 3 rd Grade Hebrew The children worked hard and learned so much about Chanukah!! If you ask them about it, I am sure that they will have great knowledge about it. They are bringing home a Chanukah packet that they worked on. Please go over the parashat hashavuah (portion of the week from the Torah) with your child and remind them to be ready for the test when we come back from vacation. I am sending home a story that they can read over vacation. This will be a material to practice reading. Also, I am sending home a list of verbs that we learned and they need to know the shoresh (root) of these verbs. Wishing you all Shabbat shalom and Chag Sameach!!!

6 4 th Grade English The 4th grade had just finished chapter 3 in math and are now ready to move up to division. They also learned where and how coal is made. They couldn't believe it actually comes from leaves and branches of trees that have been buried and preserved underground. 4 th Grade Hebrew This week we are finishing Parasha Miketz on Chumash. The class is going to have a final test about the Parasha. The class is ready to celebrate Chanukah. They all know the lighting Brachot by heart. 5 th Grade English The 5th grade just finished chapter 3 in math and are now ready to multiply with decimals. They also learned how we get electricity through water. They're having an awesome time learning. 5 th Grade Hebrew We are excited for the upcoming holiday of Hanuka and have been learning all about Hanuka in preparation. We have also started Perek Gimmel of Shemot and worked on Yesodot Halashon.
