2 THE COACHES WILLIAM (Willie) WALLACE born in Scotland, started his playing career with Stenhousemuir at the age of 17. His form attracted attention from larger clubs and he signed for Hearts at the age of 21. During his 4 seasons with Hearts he became their top goalscorer, helping them to a Scottish League Cup. Willie moved to Celtic in 1966 and enjoyed 7 glorious years. Playing career Highlights include: 1 European Cup 7 Scottish League Titles 4 Scottish League Cups 3 Scottish Cups 1 Glasgow Cup 5 International Caps 2 World Cup Campaigns Willie turned to coaching on retirement in 1977, and in Australia was Director of Coaching for a period of 16 years at: National Sports Camps, University of New England Armidale, NSW. During 8 of these years Willie shared the duties with then National Director of Coaching for Australia, Eric Worthington. STEFANO SALVATORI born in Rome was initially discovered by the AC Milan Academy at the age of 16. He played his first match in the Serie A for AC Milan at the age of 19. During his professional career he played for a number of Serie A teams in Italy before returning to AC Milan in 1989 to win the Serie A Championship and in 1990 Stefano was part of the AC Milan Squad that won the Champions League Cup. In 1989 Stefano was selected for the National Italian U21 squad where he played 13 matches. He played the majority of his career in Italy finishing in Scotland with Hearts when they won the Scottish Premier League in Since retiring from professional football, Stefano has acquired the highest Coaching qualifications in Europe and has run Football Academies in Scotland and for AC Milan. Stefano is still involved with AC Milan International Academies and is a key contributor to the Buono Football Academy.

3 John Garside John's goalkeeping career began in 1964 at the age of 16, having had to replace an injured goalkeeper in the days before substitutes. This was in a match representing Gibraltar Youth against a Representative team from the City of Malaga in Spain. At the end of 1964 John returned to the UK and during a 7 year spell enjoyed playing under Laurie McMenemy (Doncaster Rovers), John Steele (Barnsley FC) and Gordon Milne (Wigan Athletic). John began specialising in goalkeeper coaching in 1981 while still playing in Australia. Having experienced no goalkeeper coaching whatsoever during his playing career, it was John's long term ambition to change this for future goalkeepers of all ages and playing levels. In 2006 John was appointed Brisbane Roar assistant Goalkeeper Coach, and QAS assistant Goalkeeper Coach and took over when Fernando Alves was absent on National Duties. During the last 6 years John has coached two first choice A league goalkeepers, Michael Theo (Brisbane Roar first team Goalkeeper, Australian Goalkeeper of the year 2011) and Andrew Redmayne (Brisbane Roar Reserve and Australian U23 Goalkeeper now first choice Melbourne Heart Goalkeeper), John has also developed young goalkeepers to elite status. Matt Acton (U20 National Goalkeeper, Brisbane Roar Youth, now Reserve Goalkeeper) and Nick Tubbs (previously U17 National Goalkeeper) have been coached by him for approximately 7 years including during their time at the Queensland Academy of Sport. John also coached Amy Higgins another junior, for approximately 3 years, leading to her receiving a scholarship to the Queensland Academy of Sport and gaining selection for the U17 Matilda's squad. John is currently working towards setting up goalkeeping academies throughout Queensland, including regional areas.
