1 Predator ICE Installation Guide Written exclusively for Umnitza s Predator ICE Product This step-by-step guide is designed to be used in together with other available documentation including bumper removal, headlight removal, and your BMW E90 3-series Owner s Manual. The information contained herein is a guide only and may not include every possible step required to successfully complete this install. By using this manual, the installer absolves all liability of Umnitza and/or any vendors retailing, wholesaling, or engaged in the sale/install of Umnitza products. This installation will guide you through the following key steps: 1. Tool Requirement 2. Parts Identification 3. Predator ICE Install 4. Optional Upgrades 5. Completion 1. Tool Requirement a) Needle Nose Pliers b) Torx Screw Driver or Bit Set (some models) c) Zip ties (provided) d) Small Hands e) Standard Pliers 2. Parts Identification All Predator ICE products (E90/92 & LCI models excluded) have dual headed connectors. This is designed to allow the buyer to move the unit between multiple vehicles if so desired. The E39 Style Adapter (larger oval) will fit E53, E63, E39, and E83 (X3) cars. The E60 Style Adapter (smaller squared off unit) will fit all other models (E60, E65, E87, etc.) Standard Includes: 2 Predator ICE Modules 2 Resistors (attached) 2 Sets of adapters (E60 Style and E39 Style) If this is a permanent install, the installer may insulate the other wires/connector. The smaller footprint of the chrome resistor allows the resistor to fit inside all headlights for install or be secured next to the externally installed units. Optional Includes: Wiring Harness (not shown) IMPORTANT NOTE Every unit is designed to fit very snugly with the rubber gasket providing a tight, debrisfree fit. In some applications (E60/E65/E53) this is especially difficult to fit due to tight dimensional constraints. Only to diminish the time required to install the unit you may want to shave down the 3 fins by 1-2mm on the TOP (not sides) of the fins. This is not necessary and only optional.

2 3. Installation a. E39/E53 ( series and X5) a. Original Unit Shown b. Removal is Counter- Clockwise c. PNP Connector (make sure the polarity of the wires is correct)

3 3. Installation E60 Installation a. The headlight is held in place by bolts at all the corners and requires a Torx screw driver to remove, the ONLY way this will remove the headlight is to remove the high beam cap prior to removal b. The original bulb can be removed only once the headlight is out. Twisting the bulb counter-clockwise for removal and disconnecting the OE connector from the back of the base of the bulb. The headlight is a puzzle and does not require force to remove; it must be tilted forward and at a Z-Axis to remove from the car. Bumper removal is not required. Original Bulb Removed You can proceed to twist in the Predator ICE unit into the housing at this time.

4 c. The PNP portion is the smaller adapter. This adapter may slide in too easily. So a simple technique is used to secure the connection (see D) d. Push down on the pins about 1-2mm to make them slide in more firmly into the OEM connector.

5 3. Installation E Series This will require smaller than average hands but no bumper removal. a) Remove ALL headlight bolts. The lower bolts are right behind the high beam and low beam caps. The top bolts are 8mm and are in plain view. Disconnect the rear plug for both lights for maximum maneuverability of the headlight and ease of install. Remove the one bolt on the passenger side that will allow more easily to maneuver the headlight. On the driver s side, remove the cover using just the twist lock.

Installation E Series This will require smaller than average hands but no bumper removal. b) The headlight, once all the bolts are removed will need to be pushed out about 2-3 to clear the opening for the OE unit to be removed. c) The cap is removed via counterclockwise rotation. d) Connect the OE connection from the car to the smaller connector prior to inserting the Predator ICE unit. e) Just below the main circular socket where the Predator ICE unit is inserted, is a cavity. Insert the wiring/resistor and the non-used connector into this cavity. f) Unit completely installed. g) On the passenger s side only, on 745 or 750 cars (may be different for 760) the intake cover and intake will need to be removed. This is done using 4 clips for the intake cover and 2 8mm bolts for the intake itself.

Optional Upgrades We recommend the following upgrades and complementary products: -Predator Xenix Hyper white High Beam Bulbs -Lamin-X Clear Film Protection -LED Turn signal bulb kit, in Amber or Xenon White -HID Fog Light Conversion Kits (ProLumen or Piccolo Brand) -LED Side marker bulbs in amber or xenon white 5.
