1 These instructions are designed to address most general installation procedures across vehicles and should not be considered vehicle make, model or year specific. Please contact the vendor directly for vehicle application specific wiring diagrams as necessary. Failure to follow installation instructions can result in problematic operation or expensive repairs/replacements in the future. Before Installation 1. Read through all instructions prior to opening and unpacking product 2. Do not drop, scratch, nor touch the glass part of the bulbs at anytime. 3. Be sure engine is off, and engine is cool. 4. Be sure the vehicle is in park with hand brake applied. If necessary to lift the vehicle, be sure to follow standard safety practices to avoid injury or seek qualified professional assistance. 5. Be sure head lamps and all marker lamps are turned off 6. Check lamp connections and bulb types to make sure you have proper contacts and equipment before installation. 7. Be sure to follow all instruction steps as skipping steps or partial installation may result in damage, improper operation, or engagement of safety features. 8. If you have issues with installation steps or confusion in proper wiring it is best to seek assistance from a qualified professional installer. Installation Process 1. Remove head lamp if necessary to reach bulbs from behind. Otherwise the lamps do not require removal if you can install without the risk of accidental breakage to the bulb, bulb parts, and any kit wiring. 2. Remove rear cover of head lamp if bulbs are covered/sealed within the housings, and remove halogen bulb carefully.

2 3. Only if necessary, in some applications, a hole may need to be drilled into the rear cover. This is rare, and specific to vehicle make, model and year, but if unsure please ask your vendor prior to installation. When a hole is required, be sure to verify the correct size drill bit to the particular type of rubber grommet your bulbs come with. 4. Remove HID from box/case carefully: a. For BiXenon applications take precaution not to pull or put tension on the wiring exiting the rear of the bulbs. Be careful not to touch the bulb. b. For single beam (non-moving bulbs) applications, remove the bulb from plastic packaging. Be careful not to touch the bulb. Remove all packaging materials from the bulb and inspect for any loose foam or additional plastic rings. It may be necessary to remove a rubber seal temporarily to remove all packing supplies. Failure to remove packing supplies will lead to bulb damage/breakage, especially H11 type bulbs!

3 5. Put the HID bulb into the head lamp in the same fashion as you removed halogen bulb. If you meet any resistance, do not use excessive force to install, hand pressure is more than enough. Resistance may occur for the following reasons: a. Check the rubber gaskets or seals on the bulb for interference and possibly swap out with those removed from the halogen bulbs for looser fit. b. Check that the seals are seated fully at the base of the bulb, all plastic shipping materials should be removed c. Tabs on the bulbs may be spaced incorrectly or be of the wrong thickness for your application. Check the bulb base and labels to confirm correct bulb type. 6. BiXenon bulbs (H4, H13, HB1, HB2, HB5, 9003, 9004, 9007 and 9008) are two pieces, a mounting flange and the bulb. If necessary the mounting flange can be removed and installed first, locked into place with the factory mechanism, and the bulb inserted last. BE SURE BULB IS SECURELY TWIST LOCKED INTO POSITION OR DAMAGE WILL RESULT In most head lamp applications, the proper bulb orientation for BiXenon bulbs is with the return wire alongside the glass envelope of the bulb to be in the 6 o clock position. 7. With some applications, you may need to connect supplied connectors inside head lamp. Most connections however will occur outside the lamps. Most connections will be supplied as bare pins to be inserted into their appropriate mating plastic housing so that polarity can be confirmed. Some vehicles may not have clearly indicated positive and negative wiring and a 12v test light or multimeter may come in handy to test for signal. On exterior connections, a thin coat of dielectric grease should be applied to all 12v connecting pins. 8. Replace rear cover with supplied gasket through hole in rubber cover or drilled hole in plastic cover where necessary.

4 9. Mount ballast in engine bay, using supplied equipment and existing frame bolts as necessary. 10. Place thin coat of dielectric grease to each pin in the ballast double pin socket (12v side). Connect power wire pigtail to ballast double pin socket and pins or opposite connector to OEM bulb plug. Align plug to insert over ballasts sloped tab on socket for correct polarity. For bixenon kit applications, vehicle specific applications, and optional relayed wiring harness applications these connections will be located on the supplied relayed wiring harness. With a relayed wiring harness these wires may not be used at all. Please refer to the diagrams or refer to the vendor for specific wiring diagrams. 11. Connect bulb s high-voltage AMP (barrel plugs) to high-voltage output from the ballast. DO NOT USE DIELECTRIC GREASE IN HIGH-VOLTAGE CONTACTS. NEVER CUT HIGH-VOLTAGE WIRES ON BALLAST OR BULB FOR ANY REASON, IT WILL RESULT IN A DANGEROUS SHORT AND FAILURE OF PROPER OPERATION. IF DAMAGE IS EVER FOUND TO THESE WIRES, DO NOT OPERATE LAMPS and CONTACT YOUR VENDOR IMMEDIATELY 12. All applications using a wiring harness, please note ground connections are absolutely critical to system performance. Poor grounds can lead to equipment halting operation or locking out operation to protect the vehicle. To ensure proper contact, always mount rings directly to prepared bare metal on the frame. Existing body bolts are fine to use and try to avoid sharing stock vehicle grounding points. Always sand the frame on these areas to bare shiny metal and apply a thin coat of dielectric grease before securing rings down. Failure to supply contacts in this manner will eventually lead to sudden or chronic performance issues in the future. BOLTS AND SCREWS ARE FASTENERS, NOT CONTACTS, DO NOT RELY ON FASTENERS TO MAKE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS. a. Remove relay controller, fuse, and modular connections and apply a thin coat of dielectric grease to contacts and replace connections. On modular connections, remove only one at a time to avoid accidental swapping of connections. b. Apply dielectric grease to OE bulb plug contacts and use electrical tape to cover over any unused factory connections. c. On applications with capacitor links, pack heat shrink around capacitor wiring with dielectric grease..

5 13. All applications with relayed wiring harness, secure relay controller in upright position, as hanging by its mounting tab. 14. On vehicle specific applications with gold/yellow/orange colored resistors, it is best to mount resistors directly to the frame to help dissipate heat. Mount resistors in an area away from any immediately adjacent plastics to the sides or above. Resistors will run very hot, this IS normal operation. DO NOT TOUCH RESISTORS WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING FOR WARMTH OR BEFORE ALLOWING 5-10 MINUTES OF COOL DOWN. 15. Recheck connections and test head lamps. * If only one lamp lights, or lamps flicker on/off, your vehicle may have sophisticated bulb out, auto-on, or pulsed voltage output systems in use. The vehicle wiring may also be compromised and be unable to supply proper power for plug and play installation, the ballasts will halt operation to protect the vehicle. Please contact vendor for instructions or materials to meet compliance with these systems for normal operation. WARNING: Be sure all connections are complete, as product creates high voltage on start-up. Never change high-voltage connections. Do not look directly at lamp when lit In case of vehicle accident, or odd lamp behavior, turn off lamps immediately. Forced operation with lacking power supply may result in engagement of ballast lock out Do not modify or dismantle any parts at anytime to avoid injury and voiding warranty. Be certain of correct aiming as not to disturb other drivers. Be sure to turn off lamps when engine is not running, as it will drain your battery like other lamps. Where possible, keep the lights off until after the vehicle engine is running Trouble Shooting Flickering, low output, trouble starting, or high color temperature Install relay harness or plug and play links with capacitance Check battery charge Disable daytime running lamps or auto-on feature Check with your vendor for vehicle specific requirements No light output Reverse input power at OEM connectors, swap pins to correct polarity Check with your vendor for vehicle specific requirements Incorrect high/low operation on bixenon or halogen high beam units Check connector OEM plug

6 Remove and clean ground contact points Check with your vendor for vehicle specific requirements (some vehicles may utilize bulbs differently from industry standard) General Care, Use, and Maintenance HID lamp will be hot immediately after use, wait approximately 15 minutes before servicing Avoid flashing HID lamps frequently, as it will decrease life of the lamp. In cases of interfering vehicle systems or power supply issues repeatedly turning on the lamps over time will result in damage. Failure to investigate or seek assistance to operational issues may result in damage from operation. Warranty covers manufacturing defects only and not damages from operation. Inspect vehicle lamp wiring and ground points or harness wiring connections every 6-12 months
