If your company is chosen for the Passport to Export 12-month programme, you will benefit from a personally tailored package of support that includes: Expert coaching, guidance and advice from industry and market specialists Grant funding to support your export plans High-level training Access to overseas market introductions Ready links to UKTI staff in 96 countries across the globe The help we received from our UKTI International Trade Adviser through the Passport to Export scheme has been a valuable contributing factor in our export success, which represented 44 per cent of our sales in the financial year 2010/11. It can be difficult for small firms to expand overseas without the assistance available from UKTI. 3 Identifying the opportunities Passport to Export Benefits of the Programme Passport to Export has already delivered overseas success for thousands of innovative, ambitious companies. Over 80 per cent of Passport graduates report increased sales, rising productivity and growing profitability as a direct result of the programme *. If you are a new or less experienced exporter with ambitious growth plans and innovative products or services then Passport to Export is for you. Passport to Export begins with a company and market assessment to support the creation of an export action plan, and agreement on the financial support available to deliver it. Most crucial of all though will be your International Trade Adviser (ITA). Your ITA will be a private sector export expert who will work with you to develop and deliver practical plans based on your objectives and resources. Our International Trade Adviser has been useful from the outset - supporting and encouraging us, and we will no longer be totally dependent on the UK market. Passport to Export offers flexible advice and support that is specifically tailored to your business needs. What can Passport to Export do for you? Advice and guidance Up to six days of advice from your International Trade Adviser (ITA) to identify business needs and develop your export strategy. Your ITA will be a dedicated, sector specialist with an extensive business background, backed up by over 50 colleagues with additional country and market experience. An Export Action Plan Describing the key steps and activities to deliver your export ambitions, including: selecting appropriate markets; developing your product or service; meeting legislative requirements; finding contacts and getting paid. Develop Your Skills Places for two people from your company on the Winning and Delivering Business Overseas workshop to help you refine your strategy and plans, and network with other businesses taking the same exporting journey as you. Plus a range of one-day master classes on export topics, discounted for Passport companies by 20 per cent. Working closely with my International Trade Adviser on the Passport to Export programme, and tapping into the UKTI global network has given me the confidence to develop the business internationally. Value of package Passport to Export costs many thousands of pounds to provide: its value to companies that participate is considerably more.
