1 Beginning Piecing-101 $70 Meechy Lewis This is a 4 week beginning piecing class. The quilting skills you will be taught in this class will help you become a confident beginner. You will learn to accurately cut, piece, & press the basic skills needed for every quilt. This is also a great class if your skills need a tune-up! The freezer paper method you will learn in this class won t add any stiffness to your finished project. Saturday, Feb 6 Beginning Hand Embroidery Jennifer Lokey $30 Have you admired the lovely look of hand embroidery? It s not difficult and is such a delightful embellishment to any type of fabric project. Learn basic stitches such as the back stitch, stem stitch, and French knots to create delightful designs. Perfect to decorate your home or give as gifts. These are the techniques you will need to learn to enjoy the art of Red Work. After a bit of fitting instruction, you will be taught to sew a pair of pants (full length/capri) or shorts perfect for lounging and sleeping. PREREQUISITE: Beginning Sewing: Pillowcase (offered the day before) or very good knowledge of how to use your sewing machine and the basics of how to accomplish straight seams. Wednesday, Mar 9 Beginning Sewing: Tote Bag Judy Kysely $45 Pick your favorite fabric for a pocket front tote that s perfect to hold all your goodies for a sleepover or a shopping spree! Adults and youth over age 8 are welcome to attend. PREQUISITE: Beginning Sewing Pajama Pants (offered the day before) or confident beginner sewing experience. Thursday, Mar pm Dynamic T-Shirt Quilt $45 Jennifer Lokey Have fun with fellow quilters as you combine 9 of your treasured and saved T-Shirts into a dynamic quilt. Jennifer will teach T-Shirt preparation, review good block placement and guide fabric cutting and piecing. You will create a successful T-shirt quilt top that can be duplicated with confidence. How would you like to get away from distractions at home to have A Time To Sew? Each month we have selected one day when the classroom is open all day for you to come and sew. Arrive late or leave early or take full advantage of all 7 hours! Each person gets their own work table. Cutting table and ironing station are each just a few steps away. The Fine Print Registration: Your entire class fee is required at sign-up to reserve your place in class, and a supply list will be given at that time. You can register in person, by phone with a credit card, online, or by mail (check enclosed). You will receive a supply list once you have registered for a class. We would appreciate your purchase of needed supplies from us. Upon registration, you will receive a coupon for 10% off your class supplies! Refunds: Seven days notice will be required for class refund or transfer. You may only transfer to a different class (with 7 days notice) one time, or class fees will be forfeited. No refund of any monies paid will be given if student cancellation is made less than 7 days before class, or if student does not show up for class. If a class is cancelled by The Quilt Asylum, all monies paid will be gladly refunded, transferred to another class, or held for store credit. Miscellaneous: All classes require a minimum number of students in order for the class to make (usually 2 or 3), and if necessary, classes will be cancelled due to lack of enrollment 7 days prior to scheduled date. Early registration helps us accommodate you better and guarantee that a class will make. Classes that are scheduled over lunchtime have a lunch break.
