1 EARLY FALL SEWING CLASSES 2014 This Season we have an extensive collection of classes to help keep you growing in your skills as well as inspired. Our focus is on Embroidery, Quilting, Serging and Fashion. Our Fashion classes offer up-to-date styling; but most importantly getting the help you need in fitting. Once you have a few key patterns that fit you, the rest is easy! Our serger classes enables you to create designer tops at affordable prices. Todays wardrobe needs tend toward these basics. Our Serger classes will develop your skill and confidence and you will quickly become addicted to serging as you can make a garment in just a few hours. Especially, with a BabyLock serger that is self-threading and NO tensions to adjust! Quilting Our classes are small to allow for the help you will need and you will quickly gain confidence and skill in this wonderful past time. Our wonderful team of teachers are all excellent in their field. They strive to create an environment that s not only fun but also conducive to helping you gain both skill and confidence in your sewing. Our classes are small to ensure results! Immediate registration is required to reserve your space. Refunds or credits are given with a 2 week notice. We do ask that all materials needed for your class to be purchased at Ma Cherie Fabrics and Friendships. Inquires are always welcomed. 1

2 FASHION CLASSES PANTS THAT FIT $85.00 Thursday Sept. 18th, 25th,Oct. 2nd Joyce is back this season to help you develop a pant pattern that fits you! Lots of great fabrics to choose from. Casual or dressy - your choice! Joyce s experience and techniques in this area excels and you will be assured of the assistance and guidance that you require. BASIC BLOUSE $85.00 Wednesday Sept, 24th, Oct.1st, 8th This class is ideal to refresh your basic skills and at the same time perfect a classic blouse pattern that fits you! Joyce teaches basic alternations in blouse making as well as several techniques that will give your blouse that professional finish. CLASSIC BLOUSE/COLLAR STAND $85.00 Wednesday Oct. 15th, 22nd, 29th Joyce teaches basic alternations in blouse making as well as all of the techniques that give your blouse that professional touch. This is an intermediate class. Sample available DESIGNER JEANS $85.00 Thursday, Oct. 9th, 16th, 23rd Our sample says it all! Great techniques and as always you ll be thrilled with the fit of your own Designer Jeans. Lots of great fabrics to choose from. SERGER REUNION - Babylock - All Models SERGER CLASSES Our first Serger reunion was a great success! So much so, that we are planning another one in September. Saturday Sept.20th 10:30am - 12:30pm We will be featuring different aspects from the one in July. Please call or to confirm your attendance as space is limited. 2

3 New Tunic Top Butterick 6058 $40.00 Friday, Sept. 19th This new pattern from Butterick features the tunic look but with some wonderful details as well as many options to suit all figure types. Choose the version that suits you. Some experience with knits is required to get full benefit from this class. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SERGER $60.00 Friday, Sept. 26th This is a technique only class. Lots of samples will be made to help you become more confident with your serger. Fee includes your kit. You will definitely gain skill as well as understanding on how your serger functions. Our Basic Knit T-shirt class might be an excellent follow-up to put your new skills to work. BASIC KNIT T-SHIRT $40.00 Friday, Oct. 17th One of our most popular classes as it is geared to the novice. You will quickly see why more and more women are returning to sewing when you see how easy it is to make a t-shirt. Ready to wear knits can be quite expensive. Once you have the know how, you can create your own in just a few hours. Lots of patterns to choose from. Sizing is done ahead so you come with it cut out ready to go. MORE SERGER TECHNIQUES I $50.00 Friday, Oct. 31st 10:30am - 1:30pm Here is a great New Class to help further develop your serging skills. In this class we will cover flatlocking, 2-thread serging, blanket stitch and specialty rolled hem techniques. This is a great class to really develop not only skill but confidence in these useful finishes. SERGER TREE SKIRT $40.00 Tuesday. Nov. 4th 11:00am -3:00pm Here s another great new class to reinforce your flatlocking skills. Our sample says it all!!! This is not only easy to do once you have mastered the technique but it is fun to make. You will also use the elastic foot to insert into the rolled hem on the ruffle as well as the gathering foot. 3

4 MORE SERGER TECHNIQUES 2-Coverstitch $50.00 Saturday, Nov. 1st Here s a class to get to know the many attachments that are available for the 8-thread sergers or your Coverstitch. We will use the pintuck foot, fellers, binders and belt loop. You will just need your machine and your attachments and 4 spools of a pastel serging thread. If you don t have any attachments but would love to try them, we will gladly loan you some for the class. QUILTING CLASSES CONTEMPORARY CHRISTMAS CARDINALS $45.00 Tuesday,Sept. 30th, Oct. 7th 1:00pm - 4:00pm This new pattern features squares and triangles in a contemporary time-saving construction process. We have featured our exquisite new collection from Hoffman in black, white, silver and a splash of red, which is the cardinals. Sample available. EASY ELEGANCE -TABLE RUNNER $45.00 Thursday, Oct. 2nd, 9th Here s a table runner that will get rave reviews. We have featured one of new Christmas collections - a more traditional look. This runner has been adapted by Lynne to give it that special touch. Sample available. FATHER CHRISTMAS- WALL HANGING $60.00 Thursday, Oct. 30th, Nov. 6th, 20th. Looking for a fun project that will be a treasured piece every Christmas? Lynne has adapted a panel using her wonderful creativity into a work of art. Sample available. SASHIKO -ASIAN WALL HANGING $60.00 Tuesday, Nov. 4th, 18th, 25th 1:00pm - 4:00pm This one of a kind wall hanging features Embroidery as well as traditional quilting. The Embroidery designs incorporate the Sashiko stitch. Our new Narumi collection from Hoffman is used to create various blocks i.e. the Log cabin, Double Wheel Pin Wheel, Nine Patch etc., to complete this stunning project. This class also provides the opportunity for you to try out an embroidery machine -each block takes just 10 minutes and there are 5 that feature the Sashiko Embroidery designs. 5 ANITA GOOD WORKSHOP EMBROIDERY CLASSES We are pleased to announce that this exciting new program has become a real hit! So much so that we have 3 sessions per month now. Anita Good Embroidery Designs has created this wonderful format for us. Each month they will feature 3 projects available as a special package for a very nominal fee. The workshop will focus on 1 of the projects and will be done as a workshop where you can join a group. We will have machines available to use for the hands on time. You will receive a packet with the tutorials for all 3 projects as well as a CD with the designs that you can take home. This is a great way to learn new techniques and have fun at the same time. Please call or to confirm your attendance. Please note the Tuesday Session is filled for the next few months. Three sessions have been scheduled to allow for demand.
