SH requires use of a 7" pressure equalizing mattress reducing incidence of pressure ulcers. Bed frames must be 12" or lower. Scoping is based on need rather than a required numberof beds. Affiliate required to either purchase or rent beds meeting the accessibiity features standard. System rental contract in place with provision for supplying the designated bed frame within 2 hours of request (by incdicating ADA requirement). 3 Weight Scales Accessible Scale: 1. Scale with a low platform large enough to fit a wheelchair 2. Non-skid platform surface 3. Ramped or sloped entry 4. Weight capacity minimum 800lbs. Each department, clinic or practice that weighs patients must capture weight using on of the following methods: A. An accessible scale is located within the Department, Clinic / Practice Bi. Overhead Ceiling Lifts: All acute care affiliates to install overhead patient lifts in every hospital Intensive Care/Critical Care units and Acute Rehab Units to accomplish reductions in staff injury rates, Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcer (HAPU) rates, and patient falls, as well as improving patient outcomes. i. 5 Lift Equipment: Transfer Devices & Aids Air Assisted Lateral Device Sliding Boards/Devices Friction Reducing Devices (FRDs) Transfer Device: (lateral air-power assist transfer device) 1. Inflates sufficiently to provide cushioning to patient when transferring over surfaces of differing heights and types 2.
