The Atigra comes with the T2 seat system. The T2 seat system has many advantages for the therapist who is looking for a seat and backrest system that will provide good postural support and a high level of adjustability in all the support surfaces for their client. Some of the advantages of the T2 seat system are set out below:- seat width The seat width is manually adjustable in increments of one inch (25mm) from 16 (41cms) through to 20 (51cms). This adjustment is built into the frame. A 4MM ALLEN KEY IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THE Please note when you change seat width, you will need to change the upholstery and the backrest bracing bar only. The benefits of the seat frame width adjustability are: 1. Good seat posture for the client can be maintained by adjusting the correct seat width for the client should their required seat width needs change 2. The owner of the chair will save considerable money, and therapists will save considerable time and cost by being able to adjust the seat width simply and inexpensively 3. Institutions who own the chair can save the cost of a new chair if the chair is reallocated to another client who requires a chair with a different width seat seat depth The seat depth is infinitely adjustable from 16 (41cms) through to 20 (51cms). This adjustment is built into the frame. A 17MM SPANNER AND A 5MM ALLEN KEY ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE THE You do not need to replace the upholstery nor any other parts when you change the seat depth. Getting the correct seat depth for the client is important for both postural and pressure management reasons. The Atigra T2 seat system allows this to be done quickly and simply, thus avoiding any costly expenses for the client or owner of the chair. The adjustability of the T2 seat frame thus greatly reduces the risk of the seating not being suitable for the client. backrest angle The backrest angle can be manually adjusted from approximately 80 degrees to 120 degrees. THIS ADJUSTMENT CAN BY DONE WITH A 10 MM OR AN ADJUSTABLE SPANNER. It is also important for placing the client s backrest in a position that will the client to achieve maximum functionality, but also one that will allow them to relax back into the backrest when they tire. The adjustable backrest angle will help to achieve this. Page 1 of 5
Seat support surfaces The T2 seat can be provided with a profiled seat cushion that includes abductor, adductors and a shallow bum well. The seat cushion is constructed from a high density, high resilience base foam (EN50/250) with a soft viscoelastic overlay (52/60) to provide comfort and immersion to aid pressure management. Alternatively, a metal seat pan can be provided for other commercially available seat cushions. Well constructed seat cushions can greatly assist in the seating comfort, posture and pressure management for the client. Backrest support surfaces The backrest upholstery is constructed from a high density, high resilience base foam (EN50/250) with a soft viscoelastic overlay (52/60) to provide comfort and immersion. Low profile backrests are available for those clients who do not need much lateral trunk support. Deep contour backrests are available for those clients who need a greater degree of lateral trunk support. Alternatively, other commercially available backrest systems can be fitted. backrest height Floor to seat height The backrest is attached to the seat frame by clamps that can be loosened to move the backrest to the desired height. The total height adjustment is approximately 10 cms. A PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THIS The Atigra has an entry seat height of 46cms to the top of the seat pan when the seat is set at zero degrees The benefits for the client are better postural support through increased contact area greater client comfort This level of seat height will enable most clients to be able to carry out a standing transfer into and out of the Atigra wheelchair. Page 2 of 5
armrest height and armrest pad position In order to position the client s arms and shoulders correctly the T2 armrests are adjustable in height by 10 cms from approx 25 cms above the seat side rail to 35 cms. A 4MM ALLEN KEY IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THIS Please note that customized armrests can be provided if this range is not suitable The benefits for the client are: better postural support, ie proper side support to maintain arm, shoulder and trunk position greater client comfort These features help the therapist to ensure that their client is seated correctly and functionally in the chair. the T2 armrest pads can be moved forwards or backwards by 10 cms. A 5/16 OR AN ADJUSTABLE SPANNER IS Please note that customized armrests or armrest pads can be provided if this range is not suitable Removable armrests Armrest side panels seat rake angle To make it easier for therapists and carers to transfer the client to and from the chair by standing transfer or by hoist, the armrests can be easily removed and then replaced back at the original height setting. REMOVING THE ARMRESTS IS MADE SIMPLY BY LOOSENING THE ARMREST KNOB. Armrest side panels are provided in the T2 seat. They are not height or position adjustable. Please note that customized armrest side panels can be provided if the standard panels are not suitable The seat rake of the T2 seat can be adjusted from 0 degrees to 10 degrees. A 17 MM OR AN ADJUSTABLE SPANNER IS The benefit for therapists and carers is that the work of transferring the clients is easier, and less stressful or potentially injurious for them. The ability to replace the armrests back at the same height each time also avoids unnecessary adjustment of the seat frame by less knowledgeable carers. The side panels act as a hip guide and help to contain the client s legs. They also act as a modesty panel, and to provide a space for the client to store personal effects. For those clients who have an A shaped profile and can benefit from additional support in the lower trunk region, pads can be attached to the side panels for this purpose. A suitable seat rake angle can be very important to provide the client good trunk stability when driving their chair. Page 3 of 5
Swing away, removable legrests footplates The legrests can be swung away and/or removed if required. The footplates can be flipped up for easy access to the front of the wheelchair. The footplates can be adjusted in the following ways:- Height approx 10 cms. The nominal range is from 33 cms to 49 cms from the top of the seat side rail. This can be customized if required. A 14 MM SPANNER IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THIS Dorsiflexion and plantarflexion to allow for foot angle. The range adjustment is +/- 90 degrees. The benefit for the client, therapists and carers is that these legrests make it easier to transfer the client into and out of the chair. The ability to put the footrests in a position where the client can comfortably place and maintain their feet can have a significant effect on the client s posture and pressure distribution. The multi-adjustable footplates of the T2 seating system will allow many adjustments to help achieve the correct placement of the feet for the individual client. Lateral (sideways) position to open or close the gap between the footplates. Longitudinal (fore/aft) position to accommodate the client s leg position and flexibility. Lateral plate angle to allow for foot inversion and eversion. A 3 MM AND A 5 MM ALLEN KEY IS Page 4 of 5
Strong legrest hangers The T2 seat uses heavy duty legrest hangers and an energy absorbing mechanism for footplate height adjustment and energy absorption. The special height adjustment mechanism is designed to allow the footplates to turn on a heavy impact, absorbing some of the energy, and thereby lessening the chances of damage to the hangers. This can help to keep the chair operational and keep repair costs lower. Options Bodypoint upper trunk, hip and lower trunk supports Heel loops Jay seat cushions and backrests Lateral trunk supports Manual elevating legrests ROHO seat cushions Seat belts Single piece footplate Special switches Swing back controller brackets Trays Power options Power seat tilt. The standard range includes 0 to 38 degrees or 7 to 45 degrees. Custom ranges are available. Power backrest recline. The backrest recline angle is approximately 45 degrees. Power seat raise. The seat height range is 25 cms. Customizing the T2 seat AC Mobility can customize the seat to your requirements. Page 5 of 5
