All catapults are not for profit organisations. 11 11 UK Selling Points 9 Beneficial Tax, IP and Export Finance support Tax benefits Our corporation tax rate at 20 per cent is already one of the lowest in Europe and following last week budget will become 18%, the lowest in the G20. Patent box The UK Government s generous tax credits for innovation cut the cost of research. The Patent Box lowers the rate of corporation tax paid on profits from a qualifying patented invention to 10 per cent. UK Export Finance UK Export Finance (UKEF) is a government department and the UK s export credit agency. Provides risk protection to exporters with insurance against non-payment by overseas buyers and against contract bonds being called in by buyers, unfairly or for political reasons. Facilitates finance for exporters with guarantees to banks to help them provide working capital loans and contract bonds for their exporter customers. Guarantees and provides loans to overseas buyers repayable over two years and longer, to finance the purchase of capital/semi-capital goods and services from UK exporters.
