5 Customization of the Product Baby Boxes can be customized for different organizations. We recognize that every community is distinctive and that parents in some areas may face unique challenges requiring special accommodations. EXTERIOR ARTWORK We can accommodate custom artwork to reflect the uniqueness of a community. Some ideas for this include holding a local art contest, bringing a celebrated artist from the area onto the project, or including the ogos and/or other symbols of the region in the exterior art. DESIGN ADJUSTMENTS Mothers in some areas benefit from adjustments to the Baby Box design and we strive to accommodate their needs as long as it does not compromise our safety standards. For instance, we work with a group in Zambia requiring retractable mosquito netting and some groups have doubled the Baby Box lid as a changing table.

6 Baby Box Safety Simple solutions save lives and the proof is in Finland s statistics over the past 75 years. It is accepted that the Baby Box tradition has helped Finland achieve one of the world s lowest infant mortality rates. Currently the US infant mortality rate is 3X that of Finland s and the Canadian infant mortality rate is 2.5X that of Finland s. 7 Let s Get Specific About Safety All products manufactured and resold by The Baby Box Co. have undergone CPSC testing at a certified third party facility and are in full compliance with all applicable international safety regulations. The Baby Box Co. further champions infant safety by emphasizing natural, predominantly organic products and we take great care with our material selections and manufacturing methods. Our actual boxes have passed SGS inspection, all materials from the ink on the exterior of the boxes to the glue used in their production are non-toxic and environmentally safe. Our mattresses are firm foam pads which have been independently certified as non-toxic and safe by CertiPUR-US laboratories.
