3 March 2012 Binpress Starts from Scratch When Adam Benayoun and Eran Galperin founded Binpress in 2012, their dream was to create the world s first marketplace for open-source code. The last thing on their minds was how to track employment agreements, sign up for health insurance, or get contractors set up in their payroll system. Right away, I realized that I was spending hours every month going back and forth with contractors and advisors trying to get the information I needed, Adam says. A few hours may not sound like much to most people, but these are really boring tasks that end up getting broken into pieces and taking way more time and effort than they should. But it was more than just time that Adam was spending on his HR and benefits headaches. He was also spending money paying accountants and consultants $100+ an hour to help him navigate legal, financial, and compliance issues. I m not an expert on employment law, so I had a lot of questions, he says. And when I didn t know the answers to even simple questions, I had to pay consultants to answer them for me.
