1 Instructions for uploading photos for the awards banquet program There are 2 basic ways you can upload photos to us in order to have them in the banquet program you can log into the FTP site with a web browser, or you can use a dedicated FTP program. In the first case, your web browser may or may not have included functionality to upload via FTP Microsoft Internet Explorer will enable you to do so, but other browsers may only be able to browse FTP sites, and not be able to upload files to them (at least, not without an extra add-in or plug-in of some kind). There are instructions below on using Internet Explorer to log in and upload photos. In the second case, if you already have an FTP client program, you should be able to use that if not, and you want to give one a try, you can download FileZilla for free and use that. As noted it s free, and is actually what we use ourselves. There are also instructions below on using FileZilla. Note that the examples below are given from a Windows PC if you have a Mac or some other computer, you can try to see if your browser of choice will work as needed, or you may just want to go and get the correct version of FileZilla (or some other FTP client) and use that. FileZilla is available for Macs and Linux machines as well. Please note that in the examples below, the filename is pretty generic crash.jpg in your case, please be sure to rename the file you upload so that we can positively identify what rider and class it s for so, if your name is Sven Olafson, and you re providing the photo for 3 rd place in the 250B class for MX, you should name your file something like MX_250B_3rd_Sven_Olafson.jpg just to make sure we don t get any photos mixed up. 2 Internet Explorer Instructions: Open Internet Explorer, and type in (or copy/paste) the following address in the address bar: ftp://ftp.armca.org/banquet Press the Enter key and you should see a window pop up asking you to log in: Enter the login info that was provided to you on the letter you received from the district regarding your district award, and click the Log on button.

3 You ll see this once logged in: Now, within IE itself, you can only browse the existing contents of those directories, which is not what you want to do when you need to upload a file but IE is giving you the directions you need to follow in order to get upload capabilities so first of all, press Alt to show the menu bar (note that depending on the version of IE and your personal preferences, you may already have the menu bar available if so, just go to the View menu and continue from there):

4 As you can see, the menu bar has appeared click the View menu and then select the Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer option: Windows will launch Windows Explorer, which will probably request that you log in again which seems redundant at this point, but that s the way it goes so log in again with the same username and password.

5 Once logged in there in Windows Explorer, you ll see all the different folders for each sport: Double-click the sport you need to upload a photo for to enter that folder, and then you can copy/paste or dragand-drop your file into that folder as you normally would in any other folder in Windows. The below image shows a photo being dragged into the window

6 You ll see a little window like this while it s doing the copy: And when it s all done, you ll see your photo there in that folder.

7 And then you re done. If you like, you can switch back to the Internet Explorer window you started with, and you should see your file in there too (you may have to refresh your browser) and if you click on that link, it will show you the photo. You could do that if you like to just make sure the photo looks correct and nothing got messed up during the transfer. You re done! Just close all those windows and get back to whatever it was you were doing before.

8 FileZilla upload instructions: If you d like to use FileZilla (or a comparable FTP client program) to upload your file, first of all download and install it if you haven t already done so - Open FileZilla. At the top, type in ftp.armca.org/banquet as the Host, then provide the Username and Password that were specified in the letter you got from the district regarding your award (leave the Port field blank):

10 You ll log in, and you ll see the list of folders in the middle-right of the FileZilla window:

11 Double-click the sport folder for which you need to upload a photo:

12 Now you can drag-and-drop a file in that window (which currently says Empty directory listing because there s nothing in there yet) either by navigating to the file you want in the folders shown on the left (your hard drive), or by dragging-and-dropping from another window all together.

13 The above image shows the file we want to upload on the left being selected, and the next image shows it being uploaded after it was dragged & dropped to the right side:

14 And then this is what it will look like when the transfer is complete:

15 If you like, you can double-check that the file uploaded correctly and wasn t somehow corrupted in the transfer by right-clicking on it and selecting View/Edit from the pop-up menu:

16 The file will open in whatever your default viewer is on your computer for that file type: And then that s it! You can close all those windows and get back to doing whatever it was you were doing before.
