3 Sustainability & Chain of Custody Certification Boral Timber has full chain of custody certification (AS ) that meets the Australian Forestry Standard. What does chain of custody certification mean? Chain of Custody certification (AS ) confirms that Boral Timber hardwoods are sourced from certified and legal sources and the company can prove traceability of its wood materials from the forest through to the sale of its products to customers.

4 Timber Flooring Grading Boral Timber flooring meets Australian Standards and uses the aesthetic Boral Timber grading system. Grading is distinguished by selective gum veins, spirals, burls, insect trails and other natural features that give timber floors a unique character, as individual as a signature. Boral Timber flooring is not graded for colour variation or grain patterns as they form part of the natural beauty of timber flooring.. Australiana grade Australiana Grade is carefully graded to include the most interesting and moderate natural features to enhance the look of a timber floor. Classic grade Classic Grade is a subtle feature grade of timber flooring that provides a limited level of natural features. The lower levels of natural feature present the floor with a uniform look.

5 Colours Variations of colour within a timber species are normal, therefore photographs can only be indicative of the colour range of the timber species. 7 Blonde Species Australian Beech Australian Beech is a blend of light coloured species ranging from pale brown and golden hues to a light cream with a slightly pink tint.

8 Blonde Species Blackbutt Blackbutt is renowned for its strength and versatility with attractive colouring from cream to pale brown and sometimes with a tinge of pink.

9 Blonde Species Messmate Messmate varies in colour from pale browns through to light yellows with subtle hints of peach. It is rich in detail with an even texture and beautiful growth rings.

10 Blonde Species New England Oak New England Oak s tone varies from soft yellows and pinks to pinkish browns. The texture is even with variable grain and prominent growth rings.

11 Blonde Species Stringybark Stringybark. The texture of Stringybark is moderately fine and even with a straight grain. It is a light coloured blend ranging from pale yellow through to golden hues and light browns.

12 Red Species Flooded (Rose) Gum Flooded (Rose) Gum has subtle rose tones that vary from pale pink to soft reds and red browns. It has a straight grain and even texture.

13 Red Species Forest Reds Forest Reds is a blend of red coloured hardwood species ranging from pale pinks to deep rich reds.

14 Red Species Mahogany Red Mahogany is a very dense timber with pale to deep, dark red colouring, an interlocked grain and course texture.

15 Red Species Sydney Blue Gum Sydney Blue Gum varies from soft pinks to dark pinks and red browns. This blending of colour creates a particularly warm, luxurious look.

16 Brown Species Brushbox Brushbox has a fine grain and beautiful colouring that varies from pale pinkish grey to rich reddish brown.

17 Brown Species Tallowwood Tallowwood is predominately yellowish brown with a tinge of olive green and beautiful growth rings.

18 Brown Species Ironbark Ironbark is extremely hard. Its colour varies from pale brown to dark chocolate brown as well as rich reds.

19 Brown Species Turpentine Turpentine. With its fine and even texture, Turpentine varies from pale to dark reddishbrown through to deep chocolate brown.

20 Brown Species Spotted Gum Spotted Gum. A very tough timber, Spotted Gum varies from pale grey browns and soft creams to a rich chocolate brown.

22 How to Measure Up How to convert square metres to lineal metres Calculation: square metres board cover width = lineal metres Example: using 85mm wide board, 80 square metres of floor area = 941 lineal metres How to convert lineal metres to square metres Calculation: lineal metre x board cover width = square metres Example: using 85mm wide board, 900 lineal metres of flooring 900 x = 76.5 square metres Please note: 85mm = of one metre Note: allow for wastage of 2.5% for end matched material and 10% for plain ended material for flooring, decking and panelling products.
