Our Inspire Summer courses offer this perfect balance for every student spending the summer with us. More Personal Approach Inspire Summer courses are kept purposely small. We run our courses with a maximum of 45 students so we get to know all our students individually and are able to mould our programmes to suit their needs. Our staffing ratio and course design allows us to give a great deal of time, care and attention to each student.

3 Bradfield College years Bradfield College sets itself apart as one of the most prestigious boarding schools in England. Located in the heart of the Berkshire countryside yet only an hour from London, Bradfield is the perfect location to run summer courses for teenagers. Set in over 200 acres of stunningly beautiful countryside, Bradfield College is safe and secure yet within easy reach of London, Oxford and Bath for exciting and rewarding excursions. 4 Academic Choices 15 hours per week English Language With class sizes of a maximum of 9, our teachers have the time available for each student, and more importantly the students have the time to express themselves fully. This allows them to build their confidence in every aspect of the language. Learning Objectives: Improve students reading, writing, listening and speaking Encourage independent thought and learning Develop use of grammar and vocabulary Build students confidence and willingness to contribute to discussions and debates. Exam Preparation for Cambridge Exams The Exam preparation course allows students to prepare for the PET or FCE Cambridge exams. The morning is split into two lessons. Lesson one is Reading and Writing, and Lesson two focuses on Listening and Speaking. Students taking the Exam preparation course will take the Exam Preparation afternoon Focus Choice, where they will study exam skills for the 2 hour session.

5 Focus Choices Photography Using the wonderful and varied campus at Bradfield College, students learn the full range of photographic techniques and genres. We teach the fundamentals of photography in a relaxed and informal style and encourage the students to experiment and expand their knowledge through practice and discussion. Golf Our Golf Focus Choice is aimed at beginners, low and intermediate levels. The aim is to practice and improve the golf swing, to improve both the short and long game and also to enjoy playing on the course at Bradfield College. The course is run by a trained PGA professional. Fashion and Design The Fashion and Design course is a practical and fun course that focuses on the skills of clothes and accessory design. Students execute their own creative concepts and, through research and discussion with their tutor, understand what it takes to work in the fashion industry. The course includes an extra trip to London to source materials and visit a fashion themed museum. Tennis For improving players who play regularly, our tennis course is run by Lawn Tennis Association coaches on the professional standard tennis courts at Bradfield College. This course covers all aspects of the game and includes match play. Players are assessed by the coaches over the 2 week duration and leave with a full assessment of their level and improvement. Study Skills and Exam Preparation For those students following the Exam preparation course in the morning academic choice, they will spend the first part of the afternoon practising the skills required to be confident when taking the FCE and PET exams. These sessions are also designed for students to feedback to the teachers about areas they would like to improve or feel less confident in. Drama and Dance For our creative students! A wonderful chance to further your experience in both drama and dance. This course is made up of performance workshops in each discipline, introducing the students to the various techniques and theory. The course culminates in a performance to the group on the last night exhibition. The course is run by our trained drama and dance teachers. Social Programme Evenings The evening events at Inspire Summer are vital to creating the wonderful environment in which students flourish. The events are great fun and fully inclusive, they focus on practising the English the students have learnt during the day. We work in mixed nationality teams and compete for points. Some examples of the evening events include: Casino Night Disco Mission Impossible Talent Show Quiz Night Excursions Excursions are a key part of the Inspire Summer experience. On a 2 week course our students go on 2 full day excursions to London, 1 full day excursion to Oxford and 2 half day excursions, to a place of interest with an educational or cultural significance. We encourage our students to learn and understand new skills and sports that they have not previously encountered including cricket, touch rugby and badminton, as well as improving their skills on the more traditional games of football and volleyball. English Intensive For those students who wish to further improve their English. We offer a project based study allowing the students to develop their interests and passions using the English language. Social Programme Evenings The evening events at Inspire Summer are vital to creating the wonderful environment in which students flourish. The events are great fun and fully inclusive, they focus on practising the English the students have learnt during the day. We work in mixed nationality teams and compete for points. Arts and Crafts For our creative students! We encourage each student to explore a wide range of technical skills whilst encouraging freedom of imagination. Our use of media includes sketching and painting, jewellery making, sculpture and ceramics. Drama and Dance For our creative students! A wonderful chance to further your experience in both drama and dance. 8 I would like to say that this summer experience was really a great experience for Xavier, and I believe he will never forget it. It was his first experience travelling abroad without his parents. His expectations were completely fulfilled and when he returned he was really a happy boy not only with the improvement in his English but also with the amazing experience he lived and shared with everyone, he felt as comfortable as at home. I would recommend this to my friends and most of all... I sincerely hope Xavier can repeat the experience the following summer. Thanks to you all, Sean, Jules, teachers, monitors, friends, you were all important and I am very thankful for all your help and support.
