All levels from elementary to advanced (CEFR strong A1-A2 to C1). Our General English course teaches English for international communication. We emphasise speaking and listening to build your confidence and fluency, but we also help you develop your grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. This is an economical option that leaves the afternoons free to study by yourself or explore the local area with friends. For a more intensive option, please see General English Plus. Colour Key: General English Plus 28 lessons/21 hours per week. General English Standard Course in the mornings: 20 lessons/15 hours. One or more Plus courses in the afternoons: 8 lessons/6 hours. The choice is subject to level and availability. _ General English + Communication Skills All levels from elementary to advanced (CEFR strong A1-A2 to C1). In this default option, afternoon classes concentrate on speaking, listening and writing. _ General English + Business English Intermediate to advanced only (CEFR B1 to C1). Afternoon lessons focus on the language and practical skills needed to communicate effectively in business and professional situations. _ General English + IELTS Exam Preparation Intermediate to advanced only (CEFR B1 to C1). Afternoon classes focus on the skills and strategies necessary for a good IELTS score. Examination Preparation Courses General English + IELTS Exam Preparation See previous page under General English Plus. Cambridge Exam Preparation Mornings and afternoons: 28 lessons/21 hours per week. A semi-intensive course to prepare you for these internationally recognised exams. Cambridge First (FCE): Upper intermediate (CEFR B2) only. Cambridge Advanced (CAE): Advanced (CEFR C1) only. Summer Exam Preparation Mornings only or mornings and afternoons: 20 lessons/15 hours or 28 lessons/21 hours per week. Intermediate to advanced (CEFR B1 to C1). A standard or semi-intensive summer course to help you with the skills and strategies needed for IELTS or Cambridge examinations. Other Courses Individual Tuition Hours based on your needs, subject to visa regulations and availability. All levels including beginners (CEFR weak A1). A course designed specifically around your needs, either General English or English for a Specific Purpose. You can combine Individual Tuition with any other adult course. English + Work Experience Minimum level intermediate (CEFR B1) at the start of your work placement. Minimum age 18. An English course followed by an unpaid internship in a British company or organisation. We can offer work experience in a variety of different industries. Most group courses include morning lessons plus a programme of social and cultural activities and excursions. Other possibilities include: English plus Work Placement, English plus a specialised option such as exam preparation, teacher development, Shakespeare or Trinity College exams. Residential Accommodation Private Homes In busy periods, adult students may be placed in Private Homes rather than Homestay. The difference is that in Private Homes, there are more than four students living in the house. Please tell us if you do not wish to stay in Private Home accommodation. Residential Dormitories Eastbourne offers shared residential dormitory accommodation for students age This is reserved for groups in spring, autumn and winter but in the summer, it is also available for individuals.
