S. and abroad through the NeuroNutrient Therapy Institute, the training branch of her clinic, Recovery Systems in Mill Valley, California THE MENTORS In addition to the hundreds of practitioner s who have attended Julia s Core trainings, a number of seasoned health practitioners from several disciplines have completed the new Advanced Neuronutrient Therapy Training and Certification process. Several of them will be present at this core training to share their clinical experience and their excitement with those of you in attendance. They will be led by San Francisco Julia present, lead an acupuncturist- an acupuncturist- only phone seminar Acupuncturist, Peter Shark, who will also help only breakout group on Day Two, and provide following the training. Several other mentors (nutritionists, psychotherapists, health coaches, and physicians) will also lead breakout groups and be available to talk with attendees about their experiences using the aminos in their practices. Nutritional therapists from Julia s clinic will be among them, including Distance Certification Instructor, Karla Maree. THIS WILL BE A HANDS- ON, EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING During both training days you will: I. Practice using nutritional brain repair strategies on yourself and other attendees and II. 3 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: During this Core Training you will learn to: Understand exactly how the new sugar s impact on the brain makes it more addictive then heroin or cocaine Distinguish which key neurotransmitter (NT) functions need to be enhanced: serotonin, norepinephrine, GABA and/or endorphin. Recognize the pros and cons of urine vs blood testing for NT levels and who may not be the best candidate for this therapy. Tailor an amino acid protocol to restore NT levels: 5HTP or L- Tryptophan? DLPA or DPA? Why GABA? Why not? When not to combine aminos? Which form of Serine? When to avoid Tyrosine? Protect blood sugar stability in the brain Develop clinical skills for interviewing, dosing, and monitoring, as well as altering or antidoting specific amino acid reactions. Use dietary strategies that support optimal NT and blood sugar functions as opposed to those, notably low- calorie, diets that diminish them. Provide effective alternatives to antidepressants drugs including tapering protocols that eliminate withdrawal effects. Identify how adrenal, thyroid, and sex hormone imbalances impact NT function. 4 THE LOCATION We will meet at Dominican University, 50 Acacia Avenue, San Rafael, CA Lunch will be provided for attendees to eat outside on the lawn. The University (in Marin County) is 15 minutes north of San Francisco and close to hiking, biking, and beaches. Free parking provided at the Conlan Main Parking Lot one block away. Those of you traveling to this event, will, we hope, stay together 10 minutes away on the Bay at the Courtyard Marriott - Larkspur with its views of the water and Mt. Tamalpais, its walking and biking trails, ferry rides, shops, restaurants, and movies. There is also a small restaurant at the hotel.
