11 Our vision is to foster an environment enabling the Israeli population to maintain good health and appropriate weight throughout the life cycle, through sensible nutrition and physical activity, in order to slow the rising rates of chronic diseases. Goals: Physical Activity Integrate physical activity into daily life Obesity Prevention Prevent an increase in weight among individuals with a healthy weight and enable overweight individuals to reduce excess weight Sensible Nutrition Increase consumption of healthy food and reduce salt, fat and sugar consumption Our Partners: Government ministries, NGOs, Academia, Industry and Citizens The National Program to Promote Healthy, Active Lifestyle

20 The National Program to Promote Healthy, Active Lifestyle The program is not without challenges: 1. Front-of-packaging food labeling has encountered strong opposition both in the industry and beyond the government, although it was not judgmental. 2. Another challenge was the reducing junk food marketing to children. 3. Another challenge was to continue the initiative of reducing salt and sugar in the industry without financial resources in time of financial shortage. 4. In 2015, the Ministry of Health will be launching roundtables with relevant parties on both fronts, in order to achieve realistic and sustainable solutions.
