4 GENERAL INFORMATION COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, OPEN, DISTANCE AND e- LEARNING Kampala International University is aware of difficulties students face in finding the time and funding to come to the university to study, and therefore developed the Distance learning programme to make available specialized and advanced training in the country. Being unable to come to KIU for an extended period of time need no longer be a barrier to obtaining higher qualifications, studying through the distance learning system provides an attractive option for those financially challenged, commitment to work or family, or lack of access to higher education on a full time basis due to other reasons. VISION OF THE CEODL To grow and become competitive, dynamic and leader in the provision of Distance and Online courses in the Region and the global World. ADVANTAGES OF DISTANCE LEARNING 1.
