1 CUSTOM ISRAEL TOUR EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE NORTH SHORE BIBLE CHURCH GROUP April 2016 Day 1: 11 Apr Depart USA / En Route to Israel Day 2: 12 Apr Ben Gurion International Airport Joppa Walking Tour Tel-Aviv (Inflight D) Today we arrive in Tel Aviv, where we will be met by our local guide and driver. On our journey to the hotel, we stop at ancient Joppa or Jaffa the oldest known port city in Israel where Jonah set sail for Tarshish and where Peter, the Apostle, had his rooftop experience at the home of Simon the Tanner. We continue on to our hotel. Later tonight, we depart on a short walking tour of the city before dinner at the hotel. Accommodation: Grand Beach - The Grand Beach is a 4 star hotel in Tel Aviv situated just across from the beautiful beaches and minutes away from the city s bustling centers and nightlife, the Old City of Jaffa and many cultural, entertainment, culinary and commercial attractions. Grand Beach Hotel offers a restaurant, a bar/lounge and a coffee shop/café. The property provides room service during limited hours. 2 Day 3: 13 Apr Tel Aviv Tiberias (BD) This morning you will visit Caesarea Maritima capital of the Roman procurators of Judea. See the remains of the Roman theatre, the port and aqueduct. And enjoy the new informative Multi-Media Presentation. We proceed on to Muhraka, which is located on the summit of Mount Carmel for a 360 panoramic view of the Jezreel Valley and beyond. This is the traditional site where Elijah manifested the Lord s supremacy against the false prophets of Ba al. Following along the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo is the focal point of the Book of Revelation, where excavations have unearthed over twenty layers of civilization. Then we head to Tiberias, where the remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening. Accommodation - Emily Boutique Hotel - Emily's Hotel is a property offering air-conditioned rooms with balconies and free Wi-Fi and an outdoor swimming pool. In the center of Tiberias, it is only 55 yards from the Kinneret Lake Beach. The rooms feature elegant parquet floors and come with a tea/coffee maker, a flat-screen TV and a minibar. The balconies offer views of the lake or the swimming pool. Emily's restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Day 4: 14 Apr Tiberias (BD) After breakfast, begin your day with a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. You will dock at the Kibbutz Nof Ginosar where the remains of an ancient fishing boat dating from the time of Jesus aptly nicknamed the Jesus Boat can be seen. You will ascend to the Mount of the Beatitudes and reflect on the words Jesus spoke to the multitudes. You will continue your visit to Capernaum, the center of Jesus preaching and Tabgha, the traditional site which commemorates the miracle of the loaves and fishes. This afternoon you will travel past Cana to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, then visit Mary s Well and the Synagogue church believed to be built on the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus attended. Upon leaving Nazareth, stop at the traditional Precipice; believed to be where the mob took Jesus with the intention of throwing him from the cliff. You conclude your exciting day at Yardenit, a baptismal site built where the Sea of Galilee flows into the Jordan River. Dinner this evening will be at the hotel.

3 Day 5: 15 Apr Tiberias (BD) Today enjoy a free day in the North enjoy the hotel s facilities and the Sea of Galilee beaches. Day 6: 16 Apr Dead Sea (BD) This morning you drive south to Ein Harod where God reduced Gideon's army to a few valiant men who later defeated the Midianites. On to Beit She an an ancient Decapolis city where King Saul and his sons' bodies were pinned to the city walls. You will view the extensive archaeological reconstruction. After passing the ancient city of Jericho you arrive at the Dead Sea Beach - it's time to relax! Day 7: 17 Apr Jerusalem (BD) After breakfast, enjoy a couple of hours in the hotel. Mid-day you will drive to Masada, King Herod the Great's fortress palace built in the midst of the desert. You will ascend to the summit by cable car, view the exquisitely restored archaeological remains of the palace complex and learn the story of the Jewish zealots who chose death atop Masada in 73 AD rather than becoming slaves to their Roman Conquerors. Then continue to En Gedi, take a hike in

4 the En Gedi Nature Reserve to David's Waterfall and see the myriad of caves that became David's refuge from Saul. Continue on your way to Jerusalem, stop to visit the excavated ruins at Qumran and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue until you reach Jerusalem The Golden City. Day 8: 18 Apr Jerusalem (BD) This very special day begins on the summit of the Mount of Olives. Enjoy the spectacular view of the Old City before walking down the Palm Sunday road to the tear-shaped church of Dominus Flevit, where tradition holds that Jesus wept over His beloved Jerusalem. You will continue the descent to the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees, cross the Kidron Valley and ascend Mount Zion to visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, the traditional site where Peter denied Jesus three times. You will then enter the Old City through St. Stephen's Gate to view the Pool of Bethesda and the lovely Crusader Church of St. Anne. Continue your walk to the Lithostrotos of Antonio Fortress. Continuing on you will view the Arch of Ecce Homo (Behold the Man) and then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Celebrate communion and enjoy a time of fellowship at the Garden Tomb. The remainder of the afternoon is Leisure Time to return to your favorite site, shop in the Old City souk (marketplace) or relax at your hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Day 9: 19 Apr Jerusalem (BD) This morning begins with a visit to Yad Vashem, Israel s memorial to the Holocaust. Spend time touring the new complex including the Children s Pavilion, Hall of Remembrance and the Avenue of the Righteous, where trees have been planted to commemorate the many Christians who helped save the lives of Jews during World War II. You will then make a visit to the Israel Museum to see the Scale Model a depiction of Jerusalem at the time of Christ and the Shrine of the Book, which houses many original manuscripts and copies of the Dead Sea Scrolls. This afternoon, subject to security conditions, travel back in time as you visit the ancient city of Bethlehem, birthplace of King David and Jesus. Tour the Church of the Nativity and view the manger area. You will also be treated to a special visit to Shepherds Fields which overlooks the fields of Boaz. Before leaving the village, stop at one of the largest olive wood factories to enjoy some shopping.

5 Day 10: 20 Apr Jerusalem (BD) After breakfast, your tour begins at the traditional site of the Upper Room. Nearby, enter the Jewish Quarter of the Old City to see the Cardo, Jerusalem s ancient marketplace, and also visit the Burnt House. Once belonging to a temple priest, this house is a vivid illustration of the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD. After a brief photo-op overlooking the ancient temple compound, descend to the Davidson Center for a virtual tour of the Second Temple. Then, walk amid the Southern Excavations and stand on the ancient stairs that Jesus would have used to ascend to the Temple. Nearby, subject to security conditions ascend to the Temple Mount. Though unable to enter the mosques, enjoy a splendid view of the Golden Gate which remains closed to this day and the Mt. of Olives, the Western Wall and subject to availability; walk through the Rabbinic Tunnel system by which means the priests travelled to the Temple. This afternoon, explore the ancient City of David, including the new excavation of the Pool of Siloam at the time of Jesus. After dinner, it's a special night out! Explore more of the city, browse the many shops and enjoy a drink or ice cream at one of the many sidewalk cafes on Ben Yehuda Street, a pedestrian mall in the heart of New Jerusalem. Complete the perfect evening with a drive around the Illuminated Walls of the Old City. Day 11: 21 Apr Jerusalem (BD) Enjoy a full free day for independent activities. In the evening meet the rest of the group for a farewell dinner. Day 12: 22 Apr Depart for Home (B, Inflight meals) After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back to the US.
