1 The diagnosis criteria of and its development YANG Jing LIU Zhi-hong Research Institute of nephrology Jinling Hospital Nanjing University School of Medicine Nanjing China ABSTRACT Systemic lupus erythematosus is a common autoimmune disease with great variations in clinical manifestations and immunologic disorders. The diagnosis on atypical patients is difficult so the criteria for the classification of have been revised for many times. Now the most common accepted criteria are the 1997 ACR revised criteriabut multiple limitations have been found during application. The SLICC group formulated the new classification criteria in order to improve clinical relevance. This article will introduce the progression of classification criteria in recent years and the formulation of classification criteria by SLICC.
